Who you betting if you have to put down on the game?

That's a scary number to put on the Gophers. I know Purdue's D stinks, but I'm not sure PJ has an answer for the anemic run game right now.
Having DT back and not facing Ohio State might make our run game look a whole lot better next week.....

I'm still not sure some realize just how loaded that Ohio State team is, especially on D. What they are doing right now is just sick. The FG we got was the first points they have given up in a first quarter. Nobody has reached double digits and nobody has scored a redzone TD on them....

Purdue can score. We can too, but it'll be close. I don't see us beating anyone left on our schedule by that much. Hope to be wrong.

Exactly. I knew they were stacked, but you don't realize how stacked they are until they do it to you. Goddammit that team has a really good chance they'll repeat. We looked good at the very beginning but when they started making adjustments and getting chunk plays on offense, I knew that was it. PJ was right about us not turning it over at least.

If they stay healthy and don't kill themselves with mistakes I really don't know who beats them. Their defense is unbelievable and they have some HR hitters on offense with a solid QB.

I will take Michigan to beat OSU.

Michigan is physical as hell on defense, and the game is in Michigan. Michigan has had their number lately and has no fear whatsoever.

This is concerning. Saw this today

-Opposing QBs are completing 68% with 285 yards per game, an eye popping 12.5 yards per completion with 8 passing TDs and 2 INT.

Missing 13 tackles per game vs P4 opponents.

The defense sucks at man to man and for some reason keeps playing it

Tackles are one dude tackling one dude in space because of it.
= more misses tackles

It’s a disaster. I’m not a fire the coach guy but the new DC better learn quick or it’s going to be a sad november

I'm giving the 9.5. I think the Gophers have something to prove after the OSU game and Purdue is going to get thumped.

Purdue giving up 44 per game against 3 tough P4 opponents

If we can’t score and lose to Purdue it’s going to be a long fall

The rivalry aspect of that game is definitely an equalizer. That said, I think the OSU defense will eat the true freshman Michigan QB alive.

Michigan really hasn't had to rely on him yet and in their one loss to Oklahoma he was terrible.

You are correct though that Michigan has had Ohio State's number of late. I have a feeling this one could get ugly with how good that OSU defense is but there is a long way to go until that game and maybe the young QB will be playing at a much higher level by that point.

The Gophers pass D is mediocre while the Purdue has a decent passing offense. Purdue's defense is not good at all. Barring multiple turnovers, Purdue should put up the same points as Rutgers and Cal in the upper 20s. Minnesota needs to score in the 30s-40s to win.

All that said, I think the line is right on the mark. I'm not betting this game.

I think we can definitely win and should be favored. However, that’s an aggressive spread I wouldn’t touch.

Yes, I'm surprised to see another generous spread given to the Gophers at this point of the season. The team hasn't covered the spread in any of the four games against FBS teams. I expect this spread to drop a bit before Saturday.

That's not for the whole season. That's roughly the average of the passing defense performance against the three power conference teams they played. I just did the numbers against those three teams (average of 290 passing yards given up with a 68% completion percentage). The averages are positively skewed by the 341 yards with an 85.7% completion rate by Ohio State. Still, we play power conference teams the rest of the season so those averages mean more going forward than the overall season averages.

nobody has scored a redzone TD on them....

They've only allowed TWO (2) touchdowns total in five games and zero TDs in two Big Ten full games.

(And, only four (4) field goals total in five games.)

Who you betting if you have to put down on the game?

Purdue is dead last in the nation in opponent yards per pass attempt. Minnesota is 104th in the same metric. (Note- those numbers do not count games vs opponents that are not FBS)

I see the o/u is 52.5. That might be the bet to make. This could be a shootout.

Yeah, gonna need points to beat Purdue, because they're gonna score.
