B1G matches 1 & 2 Gophers host Michigan State and Rutgers 9-25-25 and 9-28-25

Another close set won, so that's good. 5 hitting errors, also good. Not so good that they're back to shuffling opposites. Seemed like a real short hook for Kinney, although Gilk did well.

Garr really had an off match, I thought. Hope that doesn't become a trend.

AND it sure would be nice for them to get another tougher test. Not saying they can't lose any of the upcoming matches; just saying I'm not sure what we're really going to know until the better teams roll through.

Nice win over Rutgers even though the set scores were closer than we like; 22, 13, 27. Cook gave reserves much playing time and had faith in them as the 3rd set got tight; they pulled it out and hopefully gained confidence. Kinney played the 3rd set and had 5 kills. Lee had 4 service aces. The matches are going to get tougher and it will be interesting to see how the team progresses. Go Gophers.

The Gophers set their season-high with 11 aces on Sunday afternoon. It was their second time with 10+.
» Jordan Taylor set a new career-high with seven kills on .667.
» Alex Acevedo had two aces, her fourth match of the year with multiple aces.
» Georgia Lee tallied a career-high four aces, her fourth match of the year with multiple in a match.
» Stella Swenson set a career-high with four aces to go along with 28 assists and six digs.
» Lourdes Myers went for eight kills, her 10th time going for five-or-more in a match this year

I could've done without the sets 1 and 3 stress tests. Still, it was fun to see Lee roll the tape a couple of times
