I’m considering buying a couple season tickets for the first time and have some questions of those who have had them.
I assume that they come as digital tickets (I have bought single game tickets before), but do they come all at once in a single email link or spread out over the season? If you will miss a game and transfer the tickets to a friend, has anyone ever had issues with that? Are there any bad (obstructed view) seats sold as season tickets? Recommendations on a section? Any other considerations you can think of? I, surprisingly, didn’t get much pushback from my wife, so I’m going to make the investment. Just looking for advice.
Thanks.

Digital tickets are loaded in your account at the beginning of season. You can use them there or transfer to your digital wallet.

Sales and transfers are designed to be easy but there have been some comments on this forum regarding issues. I have not had any.

Seat Geek is the U’s provider of choice. I have always used Stub Hub because they get more traffic.

For year 1 I would buy tickets with no scholarship donation required. Go to the games and sit in different sections to determine your preference. There are often “good” seats that are empty that you can test drive.

If committed after year 1 and depending on your budget go for the “better” seats by making a donation.

One consideration is that the better seats are generally populated with older fans…so the enthusiasm is not the same as if you sit near the students or with younger season ticket holders (I am a bit older and am frustrated by the lack of enthusiasm in my section).

Hope that helps.

I’ve transferred tickets many times without any issues. I’ve never tried selling them so that I don’t know about.

I think that Swaggerson and Rocksoldier have answered most of your questions. I would reiterate the idea of using the first year as an information gathering exercise to gauge where you want to sit long term. There are quite a few obstructed view seats in The Barn, but we are a long way from having to allocate any of those to season ticket holders.

The only time I have had an issue transferring tickets to someone is if they didn't have an account with Paciolan (the U's ticket management vendor). Unless things have changed, they will need to set that up to receive the tickets and some people have had trouble figuring that out/getting that done. Not insurmountable, but I'd suggest starting the transfer process a couple of days before the game if you think your recipient might not already have an account with Gopher sports/Paciolan.

Selling my tickets through the apps has been seamless.

Paper tickets will be mailed upon request to the ticket office. I like both in case my phone has issues.
Nice that they provide the option. The MLB Ballpark app crashed one Sunday recently and caused a giant cluster at every stadium since almost none of them allow paper tickets anymore. The Twins seemed to give up after a few minutes and just let everyone in but teams with actual high attendance had issues.
