All Things 2025 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

I'm saying Carson Wentz has that benefit today.

Any QB who has a solid defense and a productive running game has that benefit. Does that mean those QBs are not as good as their own stats make them appear to be?

Historically speaking, how many 22-year old QBs who were playing in their first full NFL season have played well enough to lead their team to the playoffs?

McCarthy started only 28 games at Michigan. He is younger, in many senses of that word, than many NFL rookies.

I think he has a bright future, but he has looked (understandably) overwhelmed as a starter for the Vikings. He might not be ready yet.

So…..trade Wentz after today?
I don't think registering his first win as a starter since 2023 is going to increase his trade value much beyond what it was when the Vikings acquired his services in August as a FREE Agent.

I was talking specifically about the circumstances of the Vikings-Bengals game today.

Extrapolating my view on that regarding the statistic/rating in general is misguided.

I have no interest in getting into a debate/discussion in general terms about QB ratings.

Apparently, it doesn't apply to any other situations beyond today's game.
Your presumption is false, nor did I even remotely suggest such a statement.

Well, I can see why you wouldn't want to do so.

Reading anything more than I am completely bored by this discussion would be another misguided presumption on your part.

Okay. See ya.

When do they depart for the land of Shamrocks?

Are they staying there for two weeks and then coming back after the London game?

Quite a few were close. CJ Stroud (21), Jayden Daniels (23), Robert Griffin III (22), Mark Sanchez (23), Joe Flacco (23), Andrew Luck (23), Patrick Mahomes (23), Dak Prescott (23), Ben Roethlisberger (22), Lamar Jackson (21), Brock Purdy (22) are some that come to mind.

Although Jackson only started the last 7 games of the season, but he went 6-1. Purdy started the last 5 games, went 5-0 then lost in the Super Bowl. All were in their rookie seasons or didn't start until year 2.

Tom Brady, Russell Wilson, and Bo Nix were all a little older making their first starts at the age of 24, but all made the playoffs.

Did their precise ages come to mind also?
🤣

Well, unfortunately, it appears the Detroit interior offensive line is not the disaster I thought it was.

Damn

Seems to be clicking just fine with their new Offensive Coordinator as well.

Baltimore has given up 33 points per game so far. Perhaps their defense is not up to the usual standards.
