Ijeboi looks like he could be a solid B1G rb, hoping he is given a larger role going forward. I like the physicality he runs with, doesn’t have the greatest speed, but looks good between the tackles. I think I’d be ready to see him moved ahead of Davis. Not sure on Turner yet, I feel like we need to see more from him to get a feel for what he can do. Was Turner injured in the game?

Yes, Turner needed help getting off the field
 


Turner got dinged up yes. his last carry was on the 1st half TD drive.

Also though Ijeboi looked quite good. Pretty shifty and hit the holes well, though agree doesn't seem like he's going to break away from you but more in the mode of a guy like Mo or Rodney Smith who will scoot through holes and gain you solid yardage frequently even if they aren't going to gas you for a 60 yard home run. Davis really doesn't do much of anything for me. Turner was a home run hitter at Marshall and we need that out of the backfield

My thoughts as well. That’s why I still want to see Turner in some capacity to see what he can do, but the Sean Tyler possibility is there as well with the move up in conference. Maybe a short yardage role for Davis.
 


Ijeboi looked very capable. Strong, some swivel.
But sloooooow as a straight ahead runner
 






He’s not slow! He looks for an opening and when he sees it he hits it hard. I agree he’s a lot like Mo.

People get caught up on speed. I agree with you. He looked great. Taylor is our around best back. Every back has a flaw or something they aren't great at. If they didn't they would likely be playing for a helmet school. I really like our RB room and all of them have played well.

The main 5 that have played all have runs over 10 yards and all but Davis average over 4.0 ypc.

Yet, they didn't play him for about the last 11 minutes of the game. Baffling.

He looks like a stud in the making.

Might have to be a stud now if both Taylor and Turner remain out for any length of time.

Bad throw, but of course it was 3rd and long... thank the coaches for helping out our young QB. Agreed. Our coaches waste too many downs and that puts a lot of pressure on QBs to get it right whenever they do throw.

Ijeboi seems to be the 2nd best rb. Is he playing behind upper classmen unjustly, perhaps so. People sometimes mix up acceleration with top end speed. He has acceleration, vision, balance, and power. I haven't seen him with a big enough hole to see if he has top end speed?

I remember Maroney as the top end speed guy, and Barber as the physical inside runner. Funny how their 40 times as the combine were very close; Barber ran a 4.48 and Maroney a 4.50.
 

In this scheme you have to be able to pick up blitzes. I like Ijeboi and Washington but they are both freshman and learning the blitz pick ups and when to chip. I think that is why AJ Turner and Cam Davis are higher on depth chart and pass catching. Ijeboi does run with the physicality and balance similar to MO Ibrahaim. The young guys are still learning.

Ryan Burns was on record telling us he was not impressed with Mo. it made for many funnny episodes of goph gridiron. Side note: I am not an ipa drinker but Fresh Coast by 3 Sheep’s brewery is my summer pick for 2025.

Not surprising. Many sprinters have quick starts, but fade in the end. Others hit another gear.
