Northwestern ran the ball on Oregon to start the game. If Northwestern can run the ball so can Minnesota. Oregon then changed their defense to stop the run forcing NW to go to the passing game. The problem is - NW isn't very good in the passing game. Lindsey will carve up Oregon if they try to stop the Gopher's run game. Oregon has some speed and will probably score but MN will dominate ToP so the Ducks will not have all of the opportunities they usually have. Oregon's only hope is to get Minnesota into a shoot out and hope their QB and receivers make fewer mistakes than the Gopher receivers and QB. I don't think that will happen - MN will just grind them down. Minnesota will upset Oregon! You read it here first!

If the game was at MN, I’d lay heavy money on MN. Oregon is overrated and has no chance at a Natty. I don’t think they are top 5, maybe not top 10.

Love ur optimism ! I like our overall D but I am concerned about the Ducks team speed.

Also I’m guessing the grass was long at Northwestern today taking away from the speed they normally play on turf.

Formula for beating Oregon will be the same is it is every time we go against a top team like them. Need to play perfect and catch some breaks. If that happens we have a shot, if it doesn't we will be in a rough spot due to the talent disparity.

We won't win because Fleck will play to just tie the game... call for three runs in a row against a stacked box, and lose 4 yards, and miss a 50+ yard field goal and lose the game.

Just came in from watching the Cal game in Berkeley. The Gophers aren’t beating Oregon. Sorry, Conservative play calling. No deep passes. OL is a work in progress. Really uncreative offense. Brockington had a great game and our RBs were OK. Our new special teams coach???? STs cost us any chance at winning. The field position battle was like an Iowa game. 🤯

The big problem is that we know PJ's game plan going into the game - play ultra-conservative and try not to get blown out. I highly doubt we will be playing for an actual win - we just want to lose this with dignity. The danger in getting blown out is that this season could start to spiral badly if that happens.

The only upset applicable here will be us as fans if last night's team shows up again for the rest of the season, let alone for the Ducks.

What did the special teams coach do wrong? He can’t control players. I highly doubt he told Perich to catch a ball at the 2 and to fumble at the 8.
