I don't know how anyone could dislike the guy based on outward appearances alone, dude is a legend!Gameday did as really nice job celebrating Corso's last show. Love him, like him or dislike him, he's a legend and institution and a person that tried to make things fun.
He'll be missed!
Me too.Not going to lie, I got choked up. Thank you coach for being a part of my Saturday's for 30+ years.
Does anyone dislike him? Maybe aged a bit the last few years but was always great, lovable. Was an icon for college football like Keith Jackson.Gameday did a really nice job celebrating Corso's last show. Yeah I was definitely one who was saying it was long past time to get him off the show, but that’s not out of any dislike. He’s about as likable and respectable as anyone who has been a major figure for that long.Does anyone dislike him? Maybe aged a bit the last few years but was always great, lovable. I probably shouldn't have used the word dislike. What i was aiming at were the folks that were saying it was his time to move on. Certainly no dislike on my part. Nothing but respect.Does anyone dislike him? Maybe aged a bit the last few years but was always great, lovable. Was an icon for college football like Keith Jackson.
We need to be careful about saying things that will apply to and be said about ourselves some day.Yeah I was definitely one who was saying it was long past time to get him off the show, but that’s not out of any dislike. My kids say I'm already there. We need to be careful about saying things that will apply to and be said about ourselves some day.
I'm just glad he'd done with the sleeveless bit. Like, when you're young looking it can be cool, but once you're older....And I've warmed to McAfee a bit after they stopped pushing him to the front and center of nearly every segment.
For me it turned when they went to 3 hours and brought in the human interest stories. I don't want to sound like an old guy yelling at clouds, but two hours of dense coverage was awesome - no need to water it down except for that they realized it was better than the sportscenter rerun that had been airing for that hour prior.I haven't watched the show closely for awhile now. Just not as good as it used to be IMO. But will have to go back and watch this one when I get the chance. Corso was the best part of the show.
I was there too. Did you have a sign? I had the "Jan Gangelhoff equals Fake News" sign.I’m glad I made it out to Northrop mall that morning to see the show. A good amount of snow falling before the broadcast was quintessential Minnesota and provided top notch aesthetics. Too bad the game was a blow out.
It's good background noise, while cleaning the house, before watching games all day.I just watch the games maybe some youtube videos / local content .... I'm actually kinda lost on what people find appealing about these national pregame shows. They tend to be vapid and at best sort of memes of themself ...![]()
If it was just a show maybe but commercials and ... I'd rather just fire up music or even last weeks game or something. It's good background noise, while cleaning the house, before watching games all day.
It's a microcosm of 24 hour news networks. Very little substance and a ton of opinion and conjecture meant to spike controversy and viewership (see anything related to Finebaum/Arch Manning/Bill Bellichek/whatever the flavor of the week is). You can only pump up a game so much and provide so many facts, it should be an hour max. But again, I'm probably in the minority because they keep making these shows longerI just watch the games maybe some youtube videos / local content .... Maybe we can get in 8 personal interest / sob stories this week! It's a microcosm of 24 hour news networks.
