Lee Corso

Gameday did as really nice job celebrating Corso's last show. Love him, like him or dislike him, he's a legend and institution and a person that tried to make things fun.
He'll be missed!
I don't know how anyone could dislike the guy based on outward appearances alone, dude is a legend!

They handled the transition well, with Corso being involved in a more limited fashion these past five or six years. Won't be the same with him gone from the show, but Gameday will remain an institution (sorry Big Noon Kickoff) regardless. And I've warmed to McAfee a bit after they stopped pushing him to the front and center of nearly every segment.

I haven't watched the show closely for awhile now. Just not as good as it used to be IMO. But will have to go back and watch this one when I get the chance. Corso was the best part of the show.

An Amazing life.

Roommate of Burt Reynolds and Ron Fraser.

“In the off-season, Corso serves as Director of Business Development for Dixon Ticonderoga, a Florida-based manufacturer of writing and arts products, including No. 2 pencils (one of which he can always be seen holding on College GameDay). In 2001, Corso spearheaded an effort to create a crayon completely out of soybeans.”

Does anyone dislike him? Maybe aged a bit the last few years but was always great, lovable. Was an icon for college football like Keith Jackson.

I’m glad I made it out to Northrop mall that morning to see the show. A good amount of snow falling before the broadcast was quintessential Minnesota and provided top notch aesthetics. Too bad the game was a blow out.

Yeah I was definitely one who was saying it was long past time to get him off the show, but that’s not out of any dislike. He’s about as likable and respectable as anyone who has been a major figure for that long.

I probably shouldn't have used the word dislike. What i was aiming at were the folks that were saying it was his time to move on. Certainly no dislike on my part. Nothing but respect.

We need to be careful about saying things that will apply to and be said about ourselves some day.
