New Regents

I feel like a lot, I'll say a majority, of posters out here are pretty clueless on the function of the BoR.
I don't think it's because it's a complicated concept. These types of positions are intentionally vague and amorphous. It's somewhat similar to being on a BoD without one of the quintessential aspects of a BoD - skin in the game. A BoR is like a BoD without any ownership interests and without any stock stewardship. I fully understand that their are sometimes members of the Board that do not have ownership interests, but I question their value as well. So I guess, yeah, I think everyone should be pretty clueless at their function.

I get that their bureaucratic mumbo gumbo larping as a BoD, so if we want to call that their function, I think most of us get that. If you want us to understand their value to the University, yep, I'm clueless.

I meant it this way...that posters are making comments out here that have no idea of what it takes to become a regent, the level commitment involved, and the BoR role. It's pretty easy to educate oneself on it, and I encourage folks to do so to make better informed posts. Yeah, I know, that's a pretty high bar out here.
