2027 QB Furian Inferrera has Flipped his Commitment from Boston College to Minnesota!

Is this good for a young QB's development?

He's at an elite program with high school elite resources and other elite players around him but QB on easy mode with his guys winning all their individual matchups ends the day he walks in the door for his first Gophers practice.
Their three Heisman trophy QBs, was a record, until Furio makes it 4.

I’d rest easy if I was you -

Here are the most well-known quarterbacks who attended Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California:

🏆 Heisman Winners

  • John Huarte (Class of 1961) — Went on to win the 1964 Heisman at Notre Dame and played professionally in the AFL/NFL/WFL sfgate.com+15stadiumtalk.com+15sportskeeda.com+15.
  • Matt Leinart (Class of 2001) — Won the 2004 Heisman at USC, led the Trojans to national titles, and later played in the NFL .
  • Bryce Young (Transferred in 2018, graduated 2020) — Claimed the 2021 Heisman at Alabama and was drafted #1 overall by the Carolina Panthers in 2023 .

Mater Dei HS is also home to Gopher basketball signee Wesley Washington, who was a huge signing out of HS but never materialized at MN.

Go Gophers!!

The top 15-20 QBs are typically 5 or 4 star players. Adding in dual-threats, he's probably around 20 right now, give or take a couple.

He’s been highly touted nationally since middle school. He just needs the starting gig to prove himself against elite competition

It would've been pretty crazy for Colt Brennan to be Matt Barkley's backup at Mater Dei given that Brennan was 7 years older and was 22 years old, playing for his 3rd different college (Hawaii), by the time Barkley first played for Mater Dei as a freshman in 2005.

Bravo, I guess?????

Neither Chat GPI or myself or infallible like yourself!!!

Our solace, is the inane amount of time it must have taken you to research this, to have these facts - I have no doubt that they are 100% accurate!!

Our lament, is you actually think that this type of knowledge is of importance to posters who are secure in themselves and have vibrant lives in the real world; this crap here is just for shits and giggles for us!!!

Lastly, an inaccuracy in the chronology of said QBs, doesn’t invalidate, my premise!!!

Have fun watching the fireworks go BOOM!!!

All that effort to make someone feel stupid for pointing out the error in your (AI) post. Just acknowledge the mistake and move on.

I guarantee I spent less time than he did in researching the career of Colt Brennan!!!

Where’s your post to him reprimanding him and asking him to do the same HypoPete???

Point is you seem to be offended that somebody found an error in your post, don't be so insecure
I’m not insecure boy, but I’m well aware of that poster’s game and I don’t take his or your shite - he’s a grown ass Man, he can handle his own business.

Why the F do you care?? Or how does this concern you?? Talk about being a little insecure _____!!!!!

I’m going to to ignore you now, cause I respect this place and am not going to derail this thread further due to you sticking your mouth where it don’t belong !!!.

Enjoy your 4th!!!

The amount of escalation you find necessary proves your insecurity

The kid has managed to maintain a 4.4 GPA. Not bad considering he spent a year at a “fake school.”

So you use AI (which is notoriously flawed) dont double check it, get called out for an egregious mistake and instead of just saying "sorry my bad" you attack the guy pointing it out? You screwed up...suck it up and be an adult. Hell your response looks like AI...sad.

Stop being lazy by trusting computer agregators that get fooled by Onion articles. Research isn't that hard.

Christ a simple Google Search would have taken 15 seconds and you wouldn't look like a whiny child now...

My HS students are better at this than you.

Go ahead and ignore me too since you are so sensitive you can't take being wrong.

While I hope he gets to start at Mater Dei, it concerns me the article doesn't mention how the Wisconsin recruit came in to compete for the starting job. I am guessing Furian has the inside track, but I doubt the Wisconsin recruit came to sit out his senior year. Would love for Furian to beat him as a junior, but will believe when I see it on ESPN (or some other streaming service) Aug 23rd when they take on St. Thomas Aquinas - FL.

It’ll make for an incredibly interesting situation if he does win. His team could easily reload but they’ll lose a 5 star TE and 2 4 star WR, among other college prospects, after this year. How would he respond with a team losing all that talent?

Although my main concern is that they do a 2 QB system and he doesn’t get the opportunity to play full time and gain that experience. Anecdotally, the 2 QB system always seems to do weird things to QBs although I’m not sure if that’s causation or correlation.

If he lights it up, he’ll be hard to hold onto until signing day. He talks a lot in interviews about various helmet schools who have shown interest. Even after he committed to BC, he felt the need to mention those schools.
