Wow an end of an era on #Gophers campus as Annie’s Parlour closed after more than 50 years! Who has great memories going there while in Dinkytown?

I have great memories if the Dinkytown location, the West Bank location and the Uptown location.

Glad I got some of the younger generation in my clan there a couple of times this year.

Great memories of games and college. Another data point demonstrating how old I’m getting.🙁

Good spot, but The Big 10 is the one that can’t be replaced. Still miss that place 9 years later for Gophers pregames. Great pregame atmosphere back when the Gophers were good & a hot ticket.

Second best subs I’ll ever have. … I miss you, Big 10. 😔
It was a fun place, I worked there back when it was called the Brickhouse, about 1979-85 or so. Bucket night was wall to wall people every Wednesday night.

lucky i got there after spring practice. Even luckier i went to Al"s breakfast about a week ago and got a parking spot right in front and an empty place to sit down. Eggs benedict are my go to dish.

I'll miss Annie's Parlor. Lots of memories at the Dinkytown location, like Freshmen Camp Staff meetings back when University Orientation allowed for actual weekend retreats of incoming freshmen directly from high school.

Sturbs and Al’s are the only places left on campus with any soul. Makes me sad that the unique and memorable spots all seem to be disappearing.

And I 100% agree with @SelectionSunday about Big 10. I was a Stadium Village guy for all 4 years of school and I lived at that place, from multiple trips per week for the best subs ever made, to quarter tap nights. Big 10 was everything a college bar should be, and it was displaced by a damn high rise.

No stopping progress. 🙁

Yes, Bucket Night. I was at a few of those around '80-82. I remember damn near chipping my teeth as I tried to drink beer from my aluminum bucket and kept bumping into people in the WAY too crowded bar!

I was there 1978-1984. Centennial Hall. Bucket Night --- I probably spilled some beer on you.

Good to know we have some food snobs here. I take it you stay away from all concessions in the arena.
Yep. Eat before or after the game. Annie's was one of the spots.

Only get something to drink at the game if it's hot to hydrate.
