ESPN 2025 top 25 class rankings

Coach P's recruiting hasn't been stellar.
How many high school recruits has she had to sign? She got Grace and missed on Johnson. I would say Tori was a good get. Realistically she hasn’t had a ton of openings to fill and she has filled with transfers. Look at LSU’s class, think all those players are going to be happy? I suppose if the are getting a lot of money, maybe. She’s in year three next year and she will have some holes to fill. She has a commit from Ohrlein which seems to be a solid get. I honestly think it’s a bit early to call her recruiting poor.

Who said it's been poor?

If you are saying it’s not stellar, ie not good, then it must be poor. Simantics, I guess, but you are implying it’s not good. And that’s just not true.

Coach P's recruiting hasn't been stellar.
There hasn't been much of a need to make a big splash with recruitment yet. We've still got the 2 seniors and 2 juniors who were part of the best recruiting class the Gophers ever had. And it's definitely not a given that those 4 would have stuck around through the coaching change and rebuilding years, but Coach P has convinced them she and this team are worth the commitment. That's huge in itself.

The coaches just needed to tweak some things here and there, which Coach P actually has done quite well with some of the recruits that others have mentioned, plus some transfers like Stewart and Woodson.

In addition, recruiting starts as young as seventh grade now. Coach P has not been here long enough to get the big names. Many top players narrow down to their top 10 or five, or occasionally even commit, before their junior year.
Relationships in recruiting are still an important factor I'm sure but the bigger piece for the top
level recruits is money, right?
Honest question: Does Coach P have any kind of comparative NIL budget to work with? I'm guessing the program has something from Dinkytown but how much? How does our budget compare to the Big Ten teams ahead of us?
Can't expect to recruit right in 2025 without ammo. If they ever settle on some rules maybe the Big Ten revenue sharing creates a little bit more level playing field where at least there is some mostly similar money for each Big Ten team.
