Yikes: This has to be the most awkward NC HC Bill Belichick interview he's ever done...😳 Something strange is going on with Jordon Hudson.

Kudos to UNC if this is true.

Being a HC is a PR job too and as a school you can't have someone making Hard Knocks declare they can't work with your school because someone you didn't even vet or hire pissed them off ...

I wondered about the family, sadly I've seen a similar situation and the next step was that the family starts getting cut out of things, communication, and etc...

And most importantly- their inheritance :ROFLMAO:

Bill threw a hissy and they backed down...

Or "has". I think we might already be there.
You mean most schools aren’t needing to clarify people’s girlfriends can come on campus lol

Big name coaches can be helpful but I don’t think this one is going to lead to a bunch of nil like Deion. I don’t see him going out and being a gem on the recruiting side long term either. Don’t really see this being a great move for either side

I just can't picture Belichick having the patience for recruiting. I feel confident saying that this situation and the one at Colorado will both end badly for the schools. The only question will be if the short term boost was worth it or not in the long run.

How quickly until UNC fires him? Is this year on the table?

I do think they will have a quick hook if he struggles to find success early but gotta think he will at least get a few years. More likely scenario though is him just quitting or finding a way back into the NFL.

Why can’t these guys just retire and enjoy spending their millions? Always interesting to me.
I suspect that unlike me (and probably you by this comment), these guys are 100% defined by their jobs. Like a twist on the old saying: These guys live to work. They don't work to live.

I don't get it either. But I'm like the majority of people. I work to pay the bills and live my life the way I enjoy. If I could do those things without my current job, I would quit in a heartbeat.

given UNC decided to throw 10mil/year at him (which is so impressively dumb), i'd imagine that's why.
Plus, coaches tend to be workaholics who love what they do so many of them are not wired to just sit on a beach somewhere counting their money. They crave competition and the process of trying to build a winning team.

Most coaches are not in the profession for the money. Not saying they would work for free but most would still be coaching even if the salaries were cut back to where they used to be before they exploded and became the ridiculous amounts they are now.

That’s the part that always slays me. My guess is that so little energy put into relationships and hobbies while in the career, they have no idea what to with themselves when it should be over.

Kind of like athletes who don’t prepare for their next chapter!!
