Talking with his son, Nate Tice, on the Football 301 Podcast recently, the former Minnesota Vikings head coach and offensive line coach identified the reasons why Ersery isn't his "flavor."

"This isn't, to be frank, this isn't my flavor right here. You got a big guy that bends at the waist, that doesn't sink his hips, doesn't finish great. He doesn't have that motor like [Gray Zabel] has. Absolutely not," Tice explained. "He does a little bit of watching at the end of plays. That would pretty much drive me nuts. He gets narrow in the run game.

"I'm trying not to be a real line coach in this show for you Nate. I don't want to say he looked like Tarzan, played like Jane, but for his size and for the amount of experience he has, I'd like to see him do a little bit better, to be frank with you."

Go Gophers!!

For whatever reason, Ersery has been dropping like a lead weight in player ratings and Mock Drafts ever since the Combine.

I have seen that. Surprised me.

Wouldn't that suggest the opposite of what Tice is saying-but-not-saying? That he plays better than he tests athletically?

Tice seems to think he's a physical beast who doesn't play as well as he should.

He says what some have been thinking. He's raw and his athleticism makes up for some mistakes. Will be interesting to see where he goes in the draft.

Why is he raw? He's a 3 year Big Ten starter. He's older than CJ Stroud. Is that on the Gophers or him or just a misconception coaches/scouts have?

I think a lot of his dropping has a lot to do with about 4-5 guys whose stock has really increased. A couple of weeks ago, this was thought of as kind of a down draft for OL, now it seems pretty stacked in the first two rounds.

We'll see how far he really drops.

Tice tried to start a fight at Bunny's over pull tabs with my buddy.

Drunk asshole. He was always a drunk asshole at Bunny's.

And my buddy is not much smaller than Tice at the time, and has a black belt. I would have like to see them tangle.

Based on my own opinions and Tice sharing some of the same, he's not technically sound or makes up for it with athleticism, raw.

Whether he's right or wrong I don't know. But he's certainly qualified to have an opinion. Or is this a Gopher cheerleader board?
You don't get it!

The interviews at the Combine carry a lot of weight. It's possible that he didn't interview well and that's why his stock dropped despite solid athletic tests.

This. This is why I check in everyday. A guy almost as big as tice with a black belt is a freakin unit! Imma big guy at 6’4” but those 6’7” guys are a whole nother animal

I've read a few reports that say, the people that like Ersery, think that he needs to move to RT. That by itself would drop his draft position. He still seems to be regarded as a middle to late second round pick.

After the Super Bowl ticket controversy with Mike Tice, I don't really take anything he says seriously.

Yesterday, PFF had Ersery rated as the 8th best offensive tackle in the draft. He gets dinged for his naturally high waist. Remember he had a nearly perfect senior season protecting the QB. He is also one of the most athletic OTs in the draft and should be able to make any adjustments asked of him.

8. T AIREONTAE ERSERY, MINNESOTA

PFF big board rank: 65

Ersery brings alluring size and length to the tackle position for the NFL. He has good hands, an explosive first step forward and quick footwork to be an impactful zone run blocker, but his naturally high-waisted build impacts his leverage and may inhibit him from keeping NFL rushers in front of him.

Would this be the original location Bunny's? I closed that up several nights back in the day. Softball was a dangerous sport....always shocked in the morning how in the world I got home?
But as I started the new day, there was the car...almost in the driveway....each time. So sad.

Kiper didn't have him in the first two rounds of his latest mock draft
Interestingly enough, Kiper has the Vikings talking G/T Donovan Jackson (OSU) at 24. I kind of like the pick considering it fills the last gap on our starting OL and also provides the insurance we need at OT.

Witnessed this same behavior from Tice at said establishment. He is a dink.
