Per Tony:

"It was just ugly, that's not the way we play," Patterson said. "We know what was at stake too. Win this one and we're 5-8, we're right there in the mix. Now we got to come back and we got to re-fight, go to L.A. and try to get two. We just got to do some soul searching right now because that's unacceptable. That's not on any of the coaching staff, that's on all the players."

Go Gophers!!

They did this kind of thing in the locker room after the Wisconsin game and then played much better the next few games. I guess that dose wore off. Let's see if it's as effective in the next dose or if the body's built up some immunity to it.

Maybe the new dose combined with some California sunshine will get them back on track. :)

They can search all they want, it likely won't help them win at UCLA.

Actually, Lu'Cye, it is the way the team has played against the better conference teams with one exception (Michigan). I guess they played a fair game at Maryland too. It's not like the team can't be competitive but they rarely are competitive against the teams with winning conference records.

We kinda seem to have ruined Oregon's season...the wheels fell off for them after we beat the Ducks

Agreed, but we have a decent shot at USC with a good performance.
Yeah, coming out of this California swing with a split would be nice.

At this point I just want to see the team show up and be competitive on a nightly basis. Hopefully doing that will lead to enough wins to avoid the bottom 3 and qualify for the BTT.

I think they have a pretty good chance of avoiding the bottom 3 but most of the evidence to date suggests that they are not so likely to be competitive against UCLA and Wisconsin.

There are only 7 Big Ten teams with winning conference records. We've played all of them except UCLA but played Michigan State twice. We played a close game at Maryland and somehow beat Michigan but in the other five games against those teams we lost by an average of 20.4 points. The range was very consistent too: a low of an 18-point deficit to a high of a 22-point deficit.

I read a posting here recently saying that this team was very up and down. Actually, I think they're pretty consistent. They're bad against the good teams (mostly) and usually competitive against the not-so-good teams.

Yes, that was a thrilling win but Oregon is only 5-8 in the conference now so Oregon was a bit of a paper tiger earlier in the season.
They are still #25 in "Wins Above Bubble" thanks to beating TAMU, San Diego St., and Bama in the noncon. Their schedule lightens up considerably from this point forward.
