Pro Volleyball Federation Is Coming to USA in 2024

Surprised no teams in Madison and Austin. If they want fans to show up, go where the top college crowds exist.
The other pro volleyball league starting is LOVB and they have a market in Madison. That one is more of a grassroots thing with partnering with local clubs and current NCAA players. Still dont know how that one is going to run or when it starts.

It's also rumored that PVF will have a team in Dallas but nothing confirmed.

Grand Rapids? That one is especially confusing. I can only think there is a particularly wealthy owner there who insisted on the location

Yes, of course:

However, Grand Rapids is currently the only team with a name and branding.

Featuring a phoenix logo and a red, gold and blue color scheme, the Rise will play its eight regular season home games at Van Andel Arena. That’s the home of the Grand Rapids Griffins, a minor league affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings.

An arena isn’t the only thing the Griffins and Rise share, though. Dan DeVos, the son of Amway’s co-founder, and currently the family-held Orlando Magic’s chairperson, will own and operate the Rise.

“They [DeVos family and company] were in agreement that it was the right thing at the right time,” Whinham said. “We worked together to build the economic and business models for this thing, based on our collective experiences in this area.”

They are not making this easy to navigate. Each Team has their own website. So far, what I have gathered is these former GOPHERS will be playing...Tori Dixon signed with the Omaha Team, Regan Pittman with the Atlanta Vibe, and Dalianliz Rosado with the Orlando Team. OOPS Hannah Tapp on the San DIego Team.

Looking forward to this in the winter months that are coming up. The following are UPDATED ROSTERS...

Has anybody read or heard how these matches will be televised?

If rumors are true, I am going to love watching Murr on the Omaha team.

I am continuously reading that Stadium and/or Bally Live will be covering these matches beginning tomorrow night. I really do not have definite information.....I am just going off their website. Below I copied over where you apparently can watch Stadium Live.

I do have YouTube TV. However, you have to Add-on their Sports package to get Stadium. I do have Roku Live so I am going to see if I can get the Atlanta match at 7 pm tomorrow night FREE on that instead of adding more to my YT Subscription cost. Or I will try one of the other options listed below on this link like Freevee, Tubi or Plex.

Watching the match LIVE right now on YouTube. Atlanta Vibe up 2-0 winning first two sets 26-24, 25-23. Omaha has won the third set 25-17 and fourth 25-19. Atlanta wins the 5th set 15-13 to take the match.

Dixon started for Omaha but Pittman did not play for the Vibe. TD has improved her serve and has been very effective with it. The girl was one of Omaha's top scorers throughout this match and can run an effective slide while being a blocking machine.

The latest updated streaming information on the PVF Website....

If they get a Mpls team, I will watch. Until then my answer is no.

I watched most of the first match and some of the second match. Pretty clear Atlanta and Omaha are going to be better than Columbus and Grand Rapids. Excited to see the other team debuts!

They really teased us with Pittman coming in for the last few points of set 4, but must’ve been a sub issue and she never actually got to play? Don’t think they ever explained it… Dixon is still playing at a really high level!

We shall see if Pittman plays at all tonight along with Rosado for Orlando. Should be starting on YouTube at 6 PM. Atlanta will be favored to win this match.

Okay...Rosado is in a commerical for PVF but isn't on Orlando's final roster. Pittman got the start at Opp tonight for Atlanta and Orlando took the first set 25-20.

IMO I felt Hilley was Omaha's problem. She just appeared to be struggling running their offense and it was taking her some time to settle in, if she ever really did. It came down to ball distribution for her.

Watching on YouTube San Diego with H Tapp and her completely wrapped left leg getting the start for SD vs. Atlanta. Pittman not starting for the Atlanta Vibes. First set Atlanta up 17-12 on home court and win it 25-17.

Atlanta pretty deep with their MB's and OH's and I just feel bad for Pittman. Right now I am not so sure she will be playing much this season for the Vibe who are up 17-11 second set and win it 25-15. I did not see H Tapp in second set for Mojo instead they started Ali Bastienelli along with Ronika Stone.

OH starters for Mojo are former Wisconsin players, TTA and Grace Loberg, and both do not look good at all and are very non productive. Actually, this team is not playing as a unit. Hopefully, they will really improve....after all this is their first match of the season and they are playing like it.

It appears Murr has made the Vegas Thrill roster. Tonight, at 7 pm CT on YouTube, we will see if she gets the start against Dixon and the Omaha Supernova's.

The Thrill won last night in 5 sets and Murr in her debut looked really really good. Also, it was nice to see Alisha Glass (former USA setter) back on the volleyball court setting for the Thrill. She knows how to set the middle and Team USA really lacks that with their present setting situation.....Larson and Hancock recovering from injuries with Carlini and Evans as backup.

I still feel Hilley is somewhat of the problem in her setting decisions for Omaha. It is like she ran the slide so many times with Rettke for 5 years she has to learn there are other players on this Omaha team that can contribute. IMO it appears Dixon is in better shape as the season progresses for Team Supernova's. She and DLC are two of their most valuable players and contribute a lot to this team.

Right now I would say the Mojo out of San Diego looks to be the team that needs to improve the most. I believe H Tapp played the entire last match for team Mojo and is still trying to make the Olympic roster for team USA this upcoming year. So, here's hoping she can stay healthy through the PVF season.

Some of these matches are still FREE and available on YouTube. Subscribe to Pro Volleyball Federation to view them. Tomorrow night Grand Rapids will be at Atlanta and Saturday Vegas at Orlando. Both matches are listed at 7 pm for a start time.

Finally, here's hoping this Gopher program can get back to having a strong middle game. We only have Dixon, Pittman, and H Tapp as representatives of that in this league....said with a little sarcasm, of course. Also, let's not forget Gibby and Pedro are back in town to help with that situation.

Although the Atlanta Vibe lost tonight 3-1 and Pittman only played the 4th set, I highly recommend watching that last set. Our girl came in the game and played middle and was a BEAST. When she rotated in they were scoring. I really don't know the reason for her not getting much playing time so far in this league's inaugural season, but tonight there was no doubt she was the bright spot for Atlanta in that 4th set. Way to go RP!

I haven't read up on it, but Omaha already relieved their HC of his duties.

I am also reading that Pittman might be waived. If I hear more on this, I will certainly post it.

Three more teams join the league next season.

Tonight on YouTube
Orlando at Atlanta 7 pm
Omaha at Grand Rapids

Here's some unexpected news for tonight. Hilley and Dixon both not playing for Omaha but Pittman is playing for Atlanta. The latter earned a start after her last 4th set performance for Atlanta.

Right now Grand Rapids up 1-0 vs. Omaha and Atlanta up 1-0 over Orlando.

Dixon finally replaced Hart in 3rd set and both Omaha and Atlanta came out with wins. Our former Gopher MB's just make such a difference at the net for these teams. Both can read the opposing setter really well which is nothing new to us Gopher fans. Pittman was outstanding again.
