USC Has A Message for B1G

They don't have the juice they used to have. Time to remind them again and again and again....

I remember it wasn't all that long ago that Nebraska thought they would come in and just dominate the entire conference. That didn't exactly happen. I think USC is probably due for a surprise, especially when they come out for an away game in late November with 20 mph winds. They have no idea how fun these cold weather games are going to be.

It's just a different animal than what they have been used to and while I think they should be successful, it remains to be seen if they can come in and just dominate every year.

It will be interesting. They definitely go into the top tier.

But I didn't see them in the championship games. Or even the Cotton Bowl that fell on hard times.

It is going to be really interesting to see how the West Coast teams deal with the weather in the Big Ten. It is also going to be interesting to see how they deal with the physicality of the teams in the Big Ten week after week.

They are used to paying a lot of defense optional games and that won't be the case for them anymore.

I think there is a good chance that Oregon, USC and Washington all end up near the top of the league most years but it isn't a guarantee that they will see the same level of success as what they have had in the past.

Where they go from here is up to NIL money. The past is irrelevant. You’re not a top 15 team without it. My guess is they have a fatter purse than MN, IA, WI, NE

But compared to OR, WA, PEN, MI, OH, UCLA…

USC enters the Big Ten as the 6th best football program, at best:

(alphabetically)
Michigan
Ohio State
Oregon
Penn State
Washington

Until the Men of Troy learn to play some semblance of defense, I don't see that changing anytime soon.
