Loudest Bank

Yes to both of those and the targeting call generated some noise in our section. Also, the TD throw to CAB was loud but I agree with you, the INT by Walle generated the highest crowd noise.

I have moved the Badgers into Husker territory on my list of disliked teams after this game. The Badger fans moved them up all on their own.

You didn't realize skunk fans were horrible people before last night?

Was there a large UW contingent there? It didn’t look or sound like it on TV.

There were plenty of Badger fans. But nowhere near what we've seen in the past. I'd say maybe 15%.

Visitors sections were mostly badger fans as well as a good chunk in the upper corner sections, and of course smattering everywhere else.

But they were very quiet.

We had a Badger couple next to us...from Milwaukee and both UW grads...whose son is a Freshman at the U. They drove to the game on a lark and got the tix online just before the game.

The Dad...who was named "Bret" BTW...noted early on that RB Allen was not having the same level of game as the previous outings.

Point is that overall the UW fans that were there didn't have a lot to cheer about after Tanner's deflecterception. The energy was with the Home team for this one.

Most Badgers started leaving with 7-8 minutes left. There were some stalwarts in 212 who were there an hour before kickoff (when we arrived) and stayed till 00:00. They basically were in their seats the entire second half.

I was hoping to hear the old "94 east" chant but it never materialized.

Oh I knew they were awful but until last night I never had taken them as seriously as they take themselves. Last night there were verbal shouting matches in the bathroom near our section per my buddy then some grumpy, loser Badger fans trying to pick a fight with a young guy in my section. I don't know why but WI fans really have nothing to be cocky about compared to Husker fans who actually won several National Ch's. A different kind of horrible, NE fans are living in the 90's and the Badgers really have nothing to be cocky about. I think I just saw the bad side of Badger fans because they lost and looked terrible. Back in my formative years, the Badgers were nothing special. Not much to hate. Nebraska was/is easy to hate. Now, Wisconsin is easy for me to hate too.

Kudos to the student section. They have been great all year and were great yesterday. PJ has definitely improved that side of things.
This! Can’t be mentioned enough given the drop off in seen in many fan bases

Not sure what the hate is all about for Nebraska. From my experience they are the classiest fans in the big 10. We had two Nebraska fans that were in town for thanksgiving sitting in front of us. Great guys and they were loving Goohers the whole game.

I believe it was ‘93 when I realized just how big of dickheads Wisconsin fans are. Dome game, they were 6-0 and having their first breakthrough season under Alvarez. The U had given away a select amount of mini footballs and unfortunately, to a huge portion of the Badger fans populating one of the end zones. (It didn’t help that about 1/3 to 1/2 of attendees wore the away colors.) After one big play, they defiled our stadium by littering those mini balls all over the end zone and making the game pause a while for cleanup. In our stadium.

Gophers had the last laugh that day with a close win and held off the impending advance of the upstart UW program. We jeered those jagoffs as they left the Dome that night. Didn’t stop them from continuing to defile the Dome in years to come though. If Badger fans were humble it would be much harder to dislike them.

I have been around that kind of NE fan too and they are truly the best fans, well maybe almost as good as OSU fans or close anyway. For me the hate is directed to the NE program I guess. The fans though have been unable to recognize the recent success and ascent of the Gophers and I don't like that attitude. Sounds like you were sitting next to some of the good Husker fans and I am happy to hear they were supporting the Gophers last night!

Agree on Husker fans being OK, have had positive interactions

Badgers fans have an astonishing arrogance from my experience. And at one game a couple of them sitting behind me and my teen son at the time started to say inappropriate things about our cheerleaders, so classy… I’m a mild mannered middle aged guy and almost turned around and got into it with some 20 year olds, cooler heads prevailed

I don't think GH's hate NE or the program. I think there is a healthy dislike of Frost, for a variety of reasons relating mostly to his personality and to how he is coddled by school admin. But I think NE fans are by and large respected as actual football fans, classy in victory and defeat--unlike the Badger and Hawkeye fans, esp. the traveling fans.

Totally agree. Frost is a tool but always hear good things about Nebraska fans. The Wisconsin fans near me last night were well-behaved but I have had some absolutely awful experiences with Becky fans in the past.
