***OFFICIAL NEBRASKA AT MINNESOTA, FROST V FLECK IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Now let's rally behind Iowa. Want them undefeated until November 13.

Sanford reminds me more of Pitino, He can make a pretty good game plan and prepare the players for it. But he is terrible at in game adjustments, and finding plays to get the team back on track.
He did exactly what everyone wanted (me included) in that first half... and Tanner responded with a few decent throws... a Sunday-quality toss to MBS for a touchdown... and also some receivers making spectacular catches (mostly CrAB, but MBS did some helping, too) to keep the game going. Eventually, the wheels fell off and Morgan tossed two horrible ints.

Was at the game and on the way home caught PJ's postgame interview. Lots of talk about slogans and culture and how culture is 4-1 vs Nebraska. It was pretty funny.
He really rubbed it in by saying they have better players. Major digs at Frost.

Yeah - it was the most in-your-face I've ever seen PJ.

Yeah, it seemed unnecessary and IMO wrong.

Unless "culture" can mean anything. We had a really stupid penalty at the end turned the ball over twice. I believe we won because we had a better team. I don't think Nebraska was particularly sloppy except for their kicking game and it's hard to call that culture.

If you were watching the game on espn, you probably noticed how at half time, they interviewed Fleck and he made it a point to say how he was especially happy with the Offensive play calling, and how balanced it was... Only reason he'd bring it up is probably because he had a little discussion with Sanford during bye week... Good Job Coach!

I think he was just saying our program represents "culture" (a "slogan") and today the team that is supposedly all slogans won...and has won 4 of 5.

I didn't mind it at all.

But…I was told how amazing this Nebraska offense was…am I missing something? They have 0 turnovers and some short fields and managed 23 points.

It seemed like they either got 30 yards or 0 yards. Not much in between.

It's a game, if you can't talk trash in what is really a pointless game when can you. I like it.

You can talk trash, I didn't say he shouldn't.

I just think his premise was wrong and the only reason it bothered me was that I think it took a little shine off his players (that were winning 1 on 1 battles most of the game) and put it on him.

Those TD passes by Morgan took skill.
The OL driving the LBer 15 yards down the field on Bryce Williams TD run, took skill.
Bryce's cut on that same drive, took skill.

I have no issue with PJ talking smack, I just don't think that was a game where the more skilled team lost because of mistakes. I think it was a game where the more skilled team kept a worse team in the game because of mistakes.

He did say culture beat skill. Which is essentially saying that our players were less skilled than their players. That's not what my eyes were telling me during the game.

PJ was just saying they have better players on paper but our system which represents "culture" (whatever you want to interpret that to be) beat them, slogans and all. I wouldn't read much more into it than that.

Really Nebraska is the new Northwestern, without the academic cred.

Was it? I saw an awful lot of skill plays by talented players win that game. Don't sell our guys short. This isn't a team full of Rudys who believe a lot in themselves taking down Goliath. Mostly the same Minnesota guys have been better than the same Nebraska guys for 3 years running now.

The Gophers "culture" physically dominated Nebraska in 2019, won with a barely passable travel roster last year, and won again this year in a game they led the whole way. None of this is a fluke.

I don't really take it as PJ saying our players aren't skilled. I think he's saying all Nebby has is skill and no coaching.

Good God. Are we really going to "go Barrierro" on our coach by nitpicking and over-analyzing something he said... after a huge, huge win?

C'mon, people. It's okay to simply sit back and enjoy a win. You aren't contractually required to poke holes in the victory, or pee on the Gopher's parade.

I kinda think Barreiro would have enjoyed PJ's comments.

It's a thread specifically about the post game comments. It seems like an appropriate place to discuss the post game comments.

Are you really going to come to a thread and nitpick and over-analyze something?
