All Things Bowling Green at Minnesota Post-Game Thread

Totally agree on letting Simon go. Just completely awful and embarrassing. Love Morgan and know he's gone through a lot with his dad's death, but man, complete shell of what he was like in 2019.
Give Simon the keys to the offense and let's give Annexstad a shot.
Sanford *??

Lots of thoughts, but main takeaways (1) not sure it was possible for an offensive line (big Dan) to play so poorly; (2) our offensive passing scheme must be AWFUL; (3) for as much as PJ likes to use scholarships on WRs, we don’t have much talent there; (4) about as sloppy and undisciplined football as I’ve seen since Brewster days; (5) Fleck’s arrogance coupled with his conservatism was on disgusting display today; and (6) it’s about time we lost one of these games, we sure had it coming.

The tactics of the passing game are beyond awful, Sanford has to be one of the worst OC's in FBS considering the talent.

Is it too soon to give up on winning the B1G West?
Yes. Our OC crew is not capable of winning B1G level games. As an employee you don't go from place to place and leave messy wake behind. Sanford is capable of f#%%%ing Jordan Love up @ utah state. Didn't do well @ ND. And many more. What Pj was sold is absolute mystery to me. Some coordinators can talk big games or intricacies of each play but cannot coordinate sustain drives. It is that simple.

I swear to god our OC has like 2 plays he calls now if Autman-Bell is not in the game. Morgan was mediocre but they called nothing to help him. We used to call midrange crossing routes for him...

Completely outcoached.

Special teams was awful on returns, penalties (roughing the kicker, lining up wrong on a kick etc. OMG). We let their punts just roll as far as they wanted instead of fair catching, we fumbled. Another missed field goal. (Punting and kickoffs solid enough). Rob Wenger has had 5 years to get it right. It it weren't for the last coach's recruits he'd have had no bright spots. I don't know what was up with Faalele...he stopped no one. If Fleck believes in competition he should replace some players when it's not happening....we have a bunch of great QBs. Put one in (well he did and we got a touchdown...then keep him in). And someone please give Fleck a Clock Management for Dummies book. When you are in the 4th quarter and your defense rocks, you don't start killing the clock when you are behind! OMG

Morgan was awful, but in his defense he got no help from the OL and he didn’t have CAB or apparently Wright out there either.
His last two throws were picks, and they weren’t that close.

I know he was about to get sacked on the first one, fine. Maybe do t launch that puppy then?

Well, if Homecoming is about making alumni fans remember their time at school, then mission accomplished. I had plenty of flashbacks to 1980s games against Illinois and Michigan and Nebraska. I could feel the hard, narrow plastic seats of the Metrodome again. Bastards.
