Took a look at the Gophers Participation Report for the Miami game. On Defense, a lot of guys played. I realize that for many it was special teams duty. Still, it was actual game experience--which gets your body and your head into actual full contact play. Specifically, 9 LBs, 11DL and 12 DBs saw the field. On Offense, it was a different story. 4 RBs saw the field, but really only one for practical purposes, and the fourth, Bucky Irving, was on kick return only (but provided a real spark!). Ky Thomas didn't enter the game even once, which is a surprise, if we are trying to build RB resilience and depth.

More surprising, however, is that only 5 WRs of the 16 on our roster (including walk-ons) saw action of any kind. Frosh Brady Boyd was on the field a lot, but had no targets, I believe. Brock Annexstad played, but I think on special teams. It was Jackson, Wright, MBS otherwise. No Geary; no Emelien or Brockington. No Nnamdi, Udoibok or Mann ... even on special teams, despite their size and speed. Would have thought that when the coaches decided to run on every play and never even attempt another throw, we could have at least got a few of these guys on the field to experience their first feel of actual game action ... or perhaps block, as some have real size. Or maybe if drops were a problem with the starters, at least give a shot to somebody like Geary or Emelien or Brockington. Maybe they could have broken out of the funk. This was a weird game in many ways.

Moderator, could you pleas delete this "Miami Participation" thread; leave the other. I accidentally posted twice. Must have hiccuped. There is a link I posted in the other thread I want to keep active. Thanks.
