Brosmer ranked 8 out of 17 on this list, ahead of several drafted QBs. Mertz ranked dead last (lol). A lot of drafted QBs who played terribly.

Mostly because he’s an unknown quantity at this point. Rypien is confirmed to be a mid QB who will never be more than a clipboard holder. While I don’t know how good Max will be, it’s plausible that he could have a higher ceiling than Rypien.
Cheaper than Rypien, more potential, and probably just as good at holding a clipboard. Would expect him to get a practice spot squad at least and be the third QB on game days.
When they played the Penn State white out game I got tickets through gopher athletics and it was much cheaper than it would have been on secondary market.
