    B1G match 6: Gophers visit Northwestern 10-5-25

Gophers overcome adversity. It wasn't pretty but they got the win. Showed grit. I wish they could get healthy and be injury free the rest of the season.

    B1G match 5: Gophers visit Michigan 10-1-25

It is clear that the team cannot lose another starter.

    B1G matches 1 & 2 Gophers host Michigan State and Rutgers 9-25-25 and 9-28-25

Nice win over Rutgers even though the set scores were closer than we like; 22, 13, 27. Cook gave reserves much playing time and had faith in them as the 3rd set got tight; they pulled it out and hopefully gained confidence. Kinney played the 3rd set and had 5 kills. Lee had 4 service aces...

    Loyola 9-19-25 and Marquette 9-21-25

Great win over a good Marquette team. The sets were tight and the Gophers didn't falter and they closed out the sets. I find this team very interesting and exciting to follow because they are overcoming adversity, improving, and their potential is still being written. I hope their potential...

    Minatee out for the year

Does the U need a more forgiving surface for the players to practice on so they don't over-stress their bodies? Does the U need to change its training/conditioning practices such as less strength training and more flexibility activities? Other?

Golden Gopher Invitational: Cal Poly, Ball State & St Thomas (Aug. 29, 30 & 31)

Challenging match and good win. St. Thomas brought their 'A' game. Gophers got to try lots of combinations and give new people experience. They had to regroup after Palabiyik went down with an injury. Tough break but a good learning experience. Kinney with11 kills and Acevedo with 3 aces...

Golden Gopher Invitational: Cal Poly, Ball State & St Thomas (Aug. 29, 30 & 31)

Good match for the Gophers against Ball State. They stayed comfortably ahead and didn't make many errors. They played 12 players and everyone played well. Acevedo had a big game (11 kills, 2 Aces) after a weak game against Cal Poly. Crowl did not play.

Golden Gopher Invitational: Cal Poly, Ball State & St Thomas (Aug. 29, 30 & 31)

Good to get the win against Cal Poly. Hanson was awesome (21 kills) and Swenson was great (48 assists, 14 digs and 7 kills!!). The first set was poor and the next 3 sets were good. After the first set, Crowl and Acevedo were replaced by the freshmen, Gilk (11 kills) and Kinney (9 kills), who...

Stella Swenson Named to U-21 Team for Pan Am Cup

She is in-between Samantha and Melani in height and quickness. She is probably not as consistent and precise as either at this time. However, she is a good server, which is important because the team lost two good servers. I think she is a solid player, and the success of the team will depend...

Stella Swenson Named to U-21 Team for Pan Am Cup

Stella played well against Canada. She looks graceful and consistent like Samantha. She had a couple of Shaffmaster-like kills.

MN Daily: Gophers build on last season's success

Is the glass half empty or half full. It certainly is not empty and it definitely is not full?

    Non-Conference schedule 2025

Last year's non-conference schedule seemed to tough for the coaching staff and team that were learning about each other and a new system. I felt that the team lost confidence in the first half of the season. This year's schedule seems too soft for a team that should have a better understanding...
