Play a real non-conference schedule. Iowa St. and South Dakota St. are good opponents, and they're local. That keeps travel costd low when you need to travel to their court, and it will draw crowds.
Also, play the Tommies! That's a no-brainer.
The sports section has really gone downhill. Some of it is due to moving the printing to a new facility that requires stories and games to end sooner, some of it is due to the Star Tribune trying to drive you online for content, and some of it is due to cuts.
The amalgamation has really hurt...
I wanted to pan this hire, but I can't. No one should, either.
Shelton was set up to fail every year by the Pirates. He'll know how to manage the Twins because they're rowing in the same boat as the Pirates.
There isn't a managerial candidate out there who will be able to succeed at a high...
Agreed. It was a high-end championship caliber team, though.
Knies and Cooley both have a chance to be 1,000 point players in the NHL, especially Cooley. That would be quite an accomplishment.
Hopefully LSU and Penn St. fail again, and fail fast.
The money for a 2nd buyout would wreak havoc on their budgets. Penn St. failing couldn't bring a bigger smile on my face. Protecting the program over pedophiles is unforgivable.
He just got paid, and he should be young enough when this contract is up to get 1 more solid deal.
He and Knies are off to good starts to their seasons. It'd be sweet if they can both average 1 point per game or more all season.
Tyus Jones signed a 1-year contract for $7 million. He's a low end starter or high end backup, but he should've been a no-brainer signing.
We'd be so much better with him than any other option we have.
