Father of Neb DC Erik Chinander dies in car accident

The funeral won't be till next week in all likelihood and they have a bye coming up. A death in the family is never convenient, but it makes sense he's gonna push through, and then turn his attention to his family during the bye.

Jimbo Fisher's new buyout is the largest in college football history – and it's not close ($95.6MM!!)

that's an insane number. And prior to that 'Bama win, aTm fans weren't happy. How quickly things change!

this has to be a low confidence pick ... this game has been wildly unpredictable the last 4-5 years.

Gophers open as a 3 point dog

Honestly, it's a catch 22 for us. We tend to get easier and less sexy cross overs (pretty sure it's just a B1G TV revenue consideration). It means we have lower bar for 6 wins than Nebraska or OSU. But man, they have a lot more intriguing games than we do. Maryland, OSU, and Indiana isn't nearly...

The hardest jobs in college football (Other notable P5 vote-getters: Minnesota: They think they can win BTW every year but they’re so far away)

This is a real struggle. But for my youth football team (along with alignment from varsity hockey and Football coaches) we make clear that a tryout is an excused absence (maybe affects 2-3 practices/yr), but a hockey practice is not. If you miss practices for fb, the in-season sport, for an out...

US Bank Stadium is a beautiful setup. It's just not a college stadium. TCF (it'll always be TCF to me) is just an awesome modern college venue. The open concourses, the way they kept the endzone open in a creative way, to limit seating ... all of it, was really well done.

Agree with this. If comparing the Gophers with OSU, then yes, we are at an in-state recruiting disadvantage. But not compared to the rest of the B1G West. HS FB has all but died in Chicago. And MN HS FB has equal or better talent than WI, IA, IN, and Neb.

Minnesota Vs. Nebraska 2021 - Media Predictions Thread

No you said this: I pointed out that against Michigan they put up over 400 yds of offense and scored 29 pts. Is Michigan a shit team?? I rest my case. Back to your original point. That against not shit teams, Nebraska's offense isn't good (this doesn't hold up by the way Top 50 scoring O...

Now, yes. but back when the admin was pulling the carpet out from under the Gophers, Stanford wasn't Exhibit A for great academics and great athletics

Checks notes, 29 pts against Michigan. Also, we scored ... 10 against Bowling Green. They average 31/game. We average 24/game.

Until we can consistently sell out our 50k capacity stadium, there's no argument this is a pro sports town. There's no coincidence that the Gopher's slide from National football power happened right as the Twin Cities got pro football and pro baseball. The idiots running Minnesota also seemed to...
