    Away Games 2024

Looks like Oregon hosts Ohio State and USC hosts Penn State that same weekend, so 3 west coast home games. One of those will likely be the 2:30 CBS game (12:30 PT), one will be the late night slot. I hope it's not ours but I don't feel good about it -- we've waited 62 years for this trip and I...

    Make Gopher Football Great Again

It took the first Oregon Rose Bowl appearance to get Phil Knight to jump in, and 30 years later we know what that has done. It's a chicken/egg thing -- getting to the playoff for the first time, while incredibly difficult, might be what it takes to get this thing over the hump.

Big Ten to be featured on FOX Friday night college football games

If it holds like last time, the big schools got to say no to hosting or even being on a Friday, leaving it to the lower half of the B1G in attendance, including us.

    Ben Johnson is a Disaster

Fortune 500 companies aren't going to partner with many D-I athletes because most of them advertise globally, if not at least nationally. Unfortunately, this roster of MN men's basketball players is barely relevant locally, let alone nationally or globally. It just doesn't work that way. The...

The dichotomy in a pro sports town

I don't think it's a direct hindrance to a team's performance by itself, but it's probably a hindrance for off-the-field stuff (attendance, awareness, fundraising) which does have an impact.

Time to be honest with ourselves...

Hauck had four out of five 2-win seasons at UNLV and isn't the same at Montana as he was before (which could be because NDSU and now SDSU are the powers at the FCS level)

STrib: Gophers football ready to 'draw a line in the sand' after Michigan debacle

Exactly. They *slightly* righted the ship the following week, then Michigan happened. This team is still not all that good, but I think they're better than what Michigan made them look like. As someone else said earlier, this is a team that should be able to go into Iowa and win a slugfest...

The Purdue game is even more important than it might seem!

It's better than it used to be (excluding last year) -- the bowl selection process has rules around not having the same teams in the same bowl games year after year, which is why we started going to Citrus and Outback, not Insight or Music City (though that one's better now).

3 Reasons Michigan State Will Upset Minnesota in Week 4

It's great to be in the position where a loss against a (over the past 15 years) top-half B1G team would be an upset, even if a close one according to the bookies.
