8 in a row, as Gophers win 3-2. Sperry hit first 2 batters in 7th who came around to score after Clausen came in relief, and Whelan with 2 scoreless innings to close it out. Perry barreled a sacrifice fly to right for 3rd run. Somehow Gophers didn't score in 9th, but it's a win. Let's keep...
Make it 7 in a row as Gophers get a 4-2 win over South Dakota State. Pretty stiff wind blowing in from left made for a low scoring affair. 2 runs in first was all the Jackrabbits would get, as Hemmesch, Dobis and Rooney put up zeroes in relief and 2 solid double plays assisted in that. Just...
Gophers push the win streak to 6 and get back to .500 with a 9-2 victory over North Dakota State. Richter answered a run in the top of the first with a 2 run homer in the bottom, then Hokensen hit a grand slam in the 3rd to blow it open. Urban with a really good 3 2/3 innings of scoreless...
Gophers cruise to a 9-2 win. Gophers made the most of their 7 hits (Richter with 3) on top of the 12 walks and 2 hit batters they received. Remington with 5 scoreless innings with Rooney working the final 4 innings for a save. A chance for a conference sweep - I believe Ohio State in 2019 was...
Gophers snap the conference losing streak with a 10-5 win. Questionable decision to have the lefty pitch to Berkland in 9th with first base open and 2 outs, and Berkland took advantage with 2 run single to seal it. Sundquist and Whelan combine for 4 1/3 scoreless innings of relief.
Selvig gets out of a bases loaded, no out jam with just one run allowed. Hellum with a nice catch to end the inning. 6-2 Gophers going to 5th. Spanier started at shortstop and batted a couple times but now out of game.
Gophers cruise to a 12-2 win over Saint Thomas. Gophers took advantage of walks and some sloppy play by Tommies, while Gopher pitchers combined to give up just 4 hits and 1 walk.
Let's hope the team can regain some of their form from earlier in season. Drop the series in Columbus and their...
Gophers snap the losing streak with win over the Jackrabbits. Not pretty at plate or in field, but enough for the victory. Elbeery suffered some type of leg injury running to first and limped off field, and so he might be unavailable for a while.
I was under the impression the collective has final say on the money. They can receive input from the athletic department and/or coaches, but ultimately the collective decides who gets what.
Not many bright spots in this series. The first game today was flat out gross Was hoping we would get that key hit we needed late in the finale to avoid the sweep, but didn't happen. Hoping they can flush this from their system and not have the season go pear-shaped.
