Nice response. Still hope to see him join us for what's hopefully a special season this year. Also I can't deny it'd be really cool to a Minnesota lineup of Walton, Battle, Garcia, and Fox / Payne. So I guess I'm guilty of the hometown bias too LOL.
Would probably boost local recruiting as well...
I just think that if Kerwin wasn't a highly rated prospect out of Minnesota people on this forum would be way more critical of his last season at UNC. But that bias is nothing new, it's just funny to see it time and time again.
Not saying he wouldn't be a good player for us, but I don't see why...
Because he was a highly touted prospect in HS and he's from Minnesota. If I had to wager though, most of the people on this board haven't seen him play since high school. I know I haven't.
That being said we need 1-2 more guards for this season and maybe he'd do better under CBJ playing in his...
Would have to agree with you. Reports last summer said that Ihnen had gotten much, much better before he got hurt. I think he absolutely will compete for a starting position if his rehab went well and the reports last summer were accurate.
Regardless, saying Ihnen will play 4 minutes a game is...
I mean fair enough. Maybe you get a different perspective from watching him in-person... I can only speak from the very limited film I saw. I'd like to emphasize that there's a very distinct difference from being a B1G-caliber athlete and being a better athlete than the rest of the high...
Because EG has kept a 2 month long grudge like a highschool girl and wants his 'I told you so' moment. Makes me wonder if he's been happy that we keep losing games just so he can validate his pessimistic outlook on the new coach every night.
From what I've seen he's not the best athlete and his jump shot release is incredibly low. Has an undesired 'push' motion and shoots from the hip.
I'm not going to pretend to be some elite evaluator of talent though. Maybe just a depth signing?
