This! Almost every damn year they blatantly hold like this in the run game and get away with it. Drives me nuts when they do the bear hug and no flags. What are the refs looking at (I will say Nebby last week there was a hold on the TD for us but at least I will admit it)

The line play tonight was great on both sides! So glad to see them finally play well. Now I feel like they have a chance next week. Hope Nebby goes on a tear 1. Because that makes this win better 2. They really do have great fans unlike that other red team near us.

Agreed, this year is different. Just saying for many years Iowa to their credit, found ways to win ugly. Gophers are taking a page out of that playbook this year.

I don’t think that’s the case. I see a lot of missed blocks, not getting manhandled (there has been some of that but not a ton). Disappointed by the very experienced transfers, they have been not playing too well.

I think they should play the young fella Karmo, dude is fast and athletic. Will he make mistakes due to being young? Yes. But he will make a lot of plays due to said athleticism and gain needed experience.

What’s concerning is how I thought for the last few years the line play on both sides has been pretty darn good. It was hard to run on this D and with Eastern, Smith and JLR returning I thought that would continue. I haven’t seen any young players make much impact other than Menz a little bit...

Agreed, but “healthy” is relative in football. It’s like the whole are you hurt or are you injured? At this point everyone has some hurt not everyone is injured. I was just saying DT doesn’t look right. He looks way slower than normal, not nearly as shifty…maybe it was just the first game back?

That’s great but I’d prefer to have him shut down if he’s not healthy. He just hasn’t looked right since a couple of years ago. He was so explosive and just seems to have lost that.

This. I really think all the assisitant turnovers has really hurt this team. Think about it. We lost Rossi, then Winston, then Hetherman, that’s some very good defensive coaching talent. We have lost OCs too. Are the Gophers not paying enough? Tough to work with PJ? Something else. Hard to argue...
