Lol, I love the claim that we are the state of hockey. I am a die hard hockey fan but when the Wolves and Wild are winning the Wolves have way more interest. The same with Gopher basketball. They win and they leave Gopher hockey in the dust.
Cutting non-revenue sports is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. We don't belong in the Big Ten if you do that. A school our size should be adding sports like men's soccer. Actually it is an embarrassment we don't have soccer or lacrosse.
Lol. If you are going to cut sports we shouldn't be in the Big Ten. The problem is the disconnect with alumni. Southern teams seem to love their teams more. They have no problem donating. This is embarrassing actually.
You also need to do something about the stadium. It is 16 years old. It is great but stagnant. Do something with the 3rd deck. A club or premium seating. More suites. More food options and restrooms. Have a massive scoreboard on the other side and enclose the bowl somewhat. You don't need to...
I was at that game and we left pretty much at the start of the 2nd qtr. I was colder, wetter, and more miserable than any cold weather home game. Being soaked on the train back to the loop was just miserable.
I used to eat there once on awhile before games as well as the Loring. Sadly there are hardy any places left to go in and around campus. I am a non-tailgater but there are still places on the way. Sad but a sign of the times in the restaurant business.
My cousins went to Penn State. Having been there all I can say is State College, the campus, and Beaver Stadium are way overrated. That has nothing to do with his decision. It is in the middle of nowhere. It is redneck Appalachia.
