If I were tOSU and had a generational talent at WR and I was playing a team that had shown absolutely nothing on offense I'd probably try to air it out and run up the score at the half, Madden style. If the Gophers get a pick at the 50 yard line who cares?

If they can go into the half down only 13 it'll be a better score at the half than I'd have predicted.

I mean, between that 52 yd FG try and the onside there you must feel if you're an MSU player that your coach does not have a lot of confidence in you.

Wasn't there some coach who once famously said "you prevent yourself from winning" ? Edit: Looks like it was Madden... though I gotta say the "Ask Madden" feature in the early 2000s games would suggest he believed it had applications!
