PJ’s 2019 team was more than capable of getting into the CFP. We’ve seen him put together a team that’s capable of it before. Need to make sure he has the resources he needs to compete here.

The entire first half of this game was not bad. Offense looked okay, defense was absolutely destroying their offensive line.

Freshman QB threw 3 picks. Not worried about it. He was going to have a game like this. Makes sense that it was against Iowa.

The disaster that was the period from Mason -> Fleck scared Gopher fans straight. We know how bad it can get.

They let an awful lot of (sometimes very good) QBs walk away, but kept him on the roster. Why not give him a chance? Waste of a spot on the 53-man if he's not good enough to play when the starter is out.

It wasn’t just one play. It was taking a massive sack when he should have just thrown the ball away, it was fielding a punt he never should have touched, it was getting caught looking on a red zone play and leaving his guy uncovered, it was muffing a punt that iced the game. He wasn’t even good...

I cannot remember the last time a player just single-handedly gave away a game like that. Wow. Worst part was that it was obvious that he needed to get pulled after the first half and they just kept putting him out there

I think this game is a complete roll of the dice and could snowball in either direction so I'm going 45-0 Minnesota on the back of multiple interceptions and a strip sack against their ridiculously talented but over-confident freshman QB.

This is where I'm at. Complete coin flip in my mind. I would believe a Gopher blowout, I would believe a Cal blowout, I would believe a close game.

Right and he also side-armed a pass 15 yards downfield. Like I'm usually a big "number are numbers" guy but y'all need to watch this dude play. I think there's a world where the Gophers shut him down, but corners are gonna have to hold up in coverage because dude does not stay in the pocket and...

He looks and plays like a carbon copy of Michael Penix. Though I will admit that probably 90% of the reason I'm making that comp is that he's also tall and left-handed.

Agreed but I cannot remember watching another true freshman QB that's that talented. I would be shocked if he's not a round one draft pick in a few years. Gophers corners are going to have to be on their game.
