Favorite moment of the 19-20 season

For one moment, the game-winning 73-yard TD pass from Morgan to Johnson in the Outback Bowl. For a series, I agree with people citing the last drive of that game, but for a moment: Ever wonder what a football play looks like when it is run absolutely perfect? Just watch that play, over and over.

    Tanner Morgan thoughts

Unfortunately, I think of the second half at Wisconsin as a series of moments (4 of them, to be precise), rather than a single moment. I still can't decide which was worse, the first INT (from the WI 14-yard line) or the second (from the WI 47).

    Tanner Morgan thoughts

My favorite Leidner stat is the 33 touchdowns. That's rushing touchdowns (he passed for 36 more). He's tied for 3rd on the rushing TD list. My saddest Leidner moment, of course, is the failed QB sneak at the end of the Michigan game. That one left a mark.

Bateman, Johnson, Autman-Bell and some unknown guy at QB

I love our wide receivers and wouldn't be at surprised if all three of Bateman, Johnson, and Autman-Bell play in the NFL. But how does the ball actually get into their hands? There seems to be little or no description of that in articles about our passing game. Does some other, anonymous...

How NOT to make a movie reference

I saw this in another post about the Claeys-Limegrover press conference yesterday. This is Coach Limegrover on his offensive line health: "Optimistic about getting anyone back on the O-Line? I'm always optimistic. I take it day by day. At the same time, the guys that we've had have been...

Exorcising the old demons -- Purdue Edition

Since we are Gopher fans, we can do this every week. For Purdue, I vaguely remember a last second field goal by Purdue to tie when the officials didn't start the clock soon enough, but the details are fuzzy. They beat us in OT, and there was some other refereeing screw-up (again, the details...

For everyone who was there THAT night

October 10, 2003: 1 2 3 4 T #20 MICH 0 0 7 31 38 #17 MINN 7 7 14 7 35 You remember what it felt like. It was an unusual Friday night game, because the Twins were in the playoffs and needed the Dome the next day. We were undefeated, and may actually have had the best offense in the country...

For "Lord of the Rings" Nerds ONly

Fantasy, or Prophecy???? The season is changed. I feel it in the water. I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the air. Much that once was is lost, for none now live who remember it. It began with the old national championships where they voted even before the bowl games were played. Six (some...
