Bottom line is the past two seasons Iowa has piss pounded us that’s been a big disappointment. Even when Ferentz had his knucklehead kid as OC and JV QBs he still beats PJ. I think PJ amuses him and that he appreciates having an arch rival coached by a game plan and game day coaching lightweight.

All things non game day related are good. Game day related generally significantly underwhelms.

I agree but my expectations are a little lower for the OL I’ll take average B10 level of play there which will still be a major upgrade. Even there I think we have a good/great year we just can’t be ranked in the 100’s any longer for run yards per game.

Hard to tell who the leaders are on PJ’s teams. He anoints guys more than most coaches IMO but the team responds/goes to the best of its own drummer and may gravitate to non anointed ones. Ya hope your QB naturally is a leader but that’s not always the case.

It certainly feels that way to me about half of our games even the ones that we win are so ugly. A lot of positives with the program but a good percentage of the time game day is not included in that.
