I didn’t think about that. Makes sense and a spring game while fun for the fans isn’t worth losing a player or two or three to the portal if they shine and get attention from others. PJ might be on to something.
The Lindenberg injury(s) last year was a real buzz kill for the team and the player. We expect 1st team all conference type play and got next to nothing. I know it’s not all one player but if he stays healthy and plays to expectations I think we are in good shape. If not, then the struggle might...
If he is healthy come North Carolina and stays that way through the end of the game I’ll buy every member of GopherHole a case of Dinkeytown Athletes endorsed beer if Taylor doesn’t carry the ball 30 times; hell he might do that in the first half mostly up the middle. I bet Ferentz and Bert got...
This whole story is the damnedest thing I have a bunch of buddies who are Hawkeyes fans, and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to mock and ridicule them and boy they are not amused by how this shook out.
Agreed. Michigan was scary strong hell we didn’t even try to win the game just tried to get it over with. Was it an anomaly— will be interesting to see but PJ said in his press conference we kept 15-16 returning starters so kudos to us this year.
If any fan doesn’t celebrate USC, UCLA, Washington and Oregon being a regular part of our rotation as part of the conference—it would surprise me. It should be big fun having them on our schedule. Let’s change our best in response. I think our schedule this year is fantastic. We won’t win them...
I suppose PJ could screw up a spring game, but historically it’s a wonderful chance to see the young kids play — pre PJ it was a highlight of the year. But yes, I think it’s pretty clear that our O on game day sucked.
PJ is dumb. Another example. He cares not about the fans. Employs a terrible to watch O and feels fine about kicking the fans in the nuts on the spring game every year.
It also protects PJ immensely at the U’s expense if he fails again next year and the year after. There was no sense of urgency to get this done. He sucked in ‘23 pretty much in all areas surrounding game day prep and game day.
