This was some time ago, but I was in Florida hanging out at a lake when some people thought it was so cute that their tiny little poodle of a dog was yapping at the alligator swimming towards it. The alligator showed that for at least a short sprint, it can outrun a tiny poodle.
I was visiting Theodore Roosevelt National Park two years ago and was amazed at how close people walked up to the buffalo, and I also used to see this up north with bears in garbage dumps. Darwin's theory put to the test. For the record, I'm fine with dumb people getting taken out by wild...
They pressed us by selecting different players for their 11 - leaving their more skilled players on the bench and replacing them with players who have better pace. The effect was we couldn't get our wingbacks and mids forward to in turn press them, which ended up isolating Pulisic. Yes, we're...
Pulisic was always double-teamed, and sometimes triple-teamed and had almost no support from the wingbacks or our midfield. The reason is because Belgium fielded an 11 that could press us, so our mids and wingbacks ended up staying back to cover and couldn't move up to support our wing play. All...
Not Ream's, or Pulisics fault. Belgium pressed our wingbacks, forcing them to stay deep. This was the first time that happened in the WC. That way they couldn't support our wing players (e.g., Pulisic was left on an island without any support way too often). That single move by their coach is...
It'll be reviewed just like all red cards. For example, the guy who broke the Canadian player's leg I think ended up getting his red card upgraded to a five-game suspension. I suppose a review could go the other direction, from the standard one game down to zero.
The "bring 'em back" part of my post should have been a bit of a clue for you, but of course you're clueless, so like most info, it went right over your head. Now back to our regular scheduled programming on the Wolves...
Just a part of what MPLS would of had to do to host the games. All told, it would have been at least a $100M cost for us to host the games, but probably would have brought in about $1B in revenue from fans. Note that FIFA gets 100% of the ticket revenue, it's not shared.
Yep, it's why Adams, Freeman and Richards are so important to us. Ream is solid on D for corner kicks and other set plays, but he's lost a step (or three) in foot speed. Watch him and Freeman when we're defending corner kicks and you'll see why he's in the starting 11.
I'm not so worried about...
For those of you somewhat new to soccer and it's strategy, here are some keys that I think will play out in our game vs Bosnia:
First off, Bosnia will start the game with the idea of playing for a tie. They want it to go to overtime PKs.
Bosnia will play what's called a "low block", meaning...
