Conley was a much loved vet, and it seemed reasonable that he'd hang around another year and then retire. Dilly at the time was just coming off his rookie season, and I have to assume they were hoping (as is validated by the roster construction) that he'd take a step forward with Conley...
So essentially they gave up Dilly, a likely retiring Conley, and a bunch of low-value second rounders for a legitimate guard and a 10-min/game bench young guy. I would say that's a resounding success. Hopefully they're able to re-sign him this offseason as he definitely fills a hole. Howl Wolves!
This. These long term contracts just aren't necessary in the era of the portal. Any coaches getting these long terms are either at schools that don't understand the new landscape, or are at a school that are letting the coach take advantage of them. Per the new hires this year, 5 year terms...
At the very least, I'm guessing this years draft will basically be "take best guy available" and they won't get too cute and trade back so many times they accumulate innumerable 7th-round picks like Spielman used to do.
For all you KAM backers, I've run this bit before, but good grief does it bear repeating. On top of that, Cine got paid $11.4MM from the Vikes for that one assisted tackle.

F that hurts. However, two hard fought games against Wisky that they had no business being in from the tip. Give Niko some healthy players and/or time to recruit some dudes, and they look like they could be legit.
Pumped about this one. We were fortunate enough to go to UCLA 2 years ago with the kids and had an absolute blast. They'll be coming to this one as well. I also have a buddy from grad school in Seattle, so I'm coaxing him to come along to the game as well (he's a tOSU fan) and will supply him...
Pickens is a decent comp. However, Pickens has much more baggage than Addison that very much likely limits has value. Based on the fact that he's not a malcontent on the team, and that his legal offenses are largely "low level", I'd be willing to bet there are numerous teams willing to give him...
Neither. I think your point is valid - those guys listed are below him in production/value. I'm going with the consensus and re-signing Nailor if you can get him on a reasonable contract and maybe drafting somebody next year.
Paying two WR's big bucks when you currently have a QB that has had...
You can put up with this stupidity when he's on a rookie deal. If you're paying him the going rate for a good free agent WR, I think it's a risk not worth taking. I'm no FA expert, but looking at WR contracts, I would assume he's at least in the $18MM/year neighborhood as a floor (avg/year...
If I'm Harbaugh, I'm waiting to see if Tomlin and the Steelers part ways. Talk about job security. Those two (Steelers and Harbaugh) seem like they'd be on the same wavelength.
I've never quite understood the Lamar Jackson love. Sure, he can be exciting at times to watch. But his refusal to work within a structured offense would have to be so maddening as a coach. The way the Bills call a game with Josh Allen as a mobile QB seems so much more productive than Jackson's...
Honestly, the risk is so low at this point with free agency. If the "better" West brother doesn't pan out, you cut them both after 2026. If he does pan out, having his brother on roster is worth the cost.
