We kinda made the same point. I agree with you. I think it's stupid that team execs always default to "player safety" as the reason for these changes. When in actuality, they aren't addressing issues that players have talked about for years, because, like you said, it would impact their bottom...
If you are going to penalize and fine hip-drop tackles and change the kickoff all in the name of player safety, then this should be the philosophy across the board. Don't extend the season to 18 games and mandate natural grass playing surfaces on all fields.
Also, for the kickoff changes...
The intro gives me chills. Personally, I would like to see Take On Me by Aha or Beer Never Broke My Heart by Luke Combs, and I'm not even a country fan. It's easy to imagine a whole stadium jamming and singing to these.
I definitely feel like he is a first-round talent. But it may just be the case that not a lot of teams are in the market for a safety in an offensively loaded draft.

Today, they all showed up in suits and my roommate asked them, "What's the occasion?". They told him that one of their teammates got caught skipping a class on the St. Paul campus and...
The students don't even like it I feel like. Years ago, they used to play the whole song practically, but now they just play 30 seconds. We can do so much better.
Battle Hymn is awesome. The whole marching band's pregame routine, in general, is fantastic I think. However, it does still piss me off that we play the opponent's fight song almost every game. I'll never understand that. Sportsmanship is great and all but I think that's too much.
Do the gopher is so tacky. I am the only one who hates it? Levels by Avicii is a great song but it doesn't cut it. I would argue the swaying before the game is more impactful, I wish the whole stadium did it and not just the students.
