Shaka will do good at Marquette. He's just not a very good power 5 coach, although he never ran the same system that he ran at VCU, he opted to run a slow half court system at Texas.
Texas is apparently Beards dream job, so we'll see if they can get him. I have a feeling they can.
Mark my words. Craig Smith is the next big name in coaching. He even outcoached Mussleman when Muss was at Nevada several times. The guy has won everywhere he's been, wins more and more games each year, his teams play tough defense and he a smart x's and o's coach. He'll get hired at some power...
What a awful hire. This should be a reality check that our job just isn't that desirable. Lol at the idiots that thought we could get musselman. He better make the NCAA tournament by year two or I'm done. This was such a lazy fucking hire.
Texas fans absolutely hate Shaka Smart and want him fired. If they were going to make noise in the tournament, this was the year. Next year will be a rebuilding year and I doubt he'd survive it. I could easily see him leaving Texas for another job. With all of that said.. I DO NOT want him. He...
Any chance at Porter Moser? I really haven't researched him much, but after watching his team, he'd be my first phone call. They play aggressive defense and run a smart offense and he makes adjustments.
So far the tournament is proving what I had a suspicion of all year. The Big 10 is way overrated as a conference. I've watched a lot of Big 12 and SEC hoops this season and thought they were just as good. Honestly it's looking like we were the third best conference.
I'm going to go with Gates. I'd rather have Craig Smith or Grant McCasland ( He runs the same system as Chris Beard). Both are future stars in coaching.
Don't worry. There is only a .01% chance Musselman would take this job. Rumor has it that he's about to get a 4+ million dollar raise and a huge buyout.
His best players at Arkansas are freshmen, with the exception of former Indiana transfer Smith. Arkansas' 2022 class is loaded with 4 and 5...
