1977 Michigan at Minnesota (Color game film with UMich radio broadcast)

Reminds that several times in my Gopher football history, a great win is followed up by a loss to Indiana

Why not us .... wheres our curt cignetti

Been following college football for nearly 60 years - everyone is always looking for a "Cignetti." Doesn't matter if it is a helmet school or not. And yes, money is a factor - but we are talking thousands of times that teams were hiring a new coach hoping to find a "Cignetti." Call it luck...

    2026 Schedule

FWIW: One of the reasons we have rarely played Indiana since Nebraska/Maryland/Rutgers joined the B1G was the "quirkiness" of the division setup. With 7 teams in each division, a normal schedule for a team was to play everyone in their own division and 3 crossover games from the other division...

Who wins the National Championship: Indiana or Miami?

Wondering if it will even be a close game....

Rate Bowl drew 4.4 million viewers on the day after Christmas; that's the Phoenix bowl game's best number since 2011.

Rate Bowl benefitted in that no other college or NFL football games occurred during their time slot (it was mentioned in the broadcast). I'm guessing most working people took Friday off and were done with the presents/big holiday meals - just looking for something to watch

Gophers leaders chime in on tenuous future of bowl games

Due to the bias of the SEC, the problem becomes the SEC 1-5th seeds go to the CFP - the 6th and 7th SEC seeds boycott the bowl games because they were "robbed" - and we are left with 6-6 SEC teams (where half the team chooses not to participate as they prepare for the portal/draft or have just...

    2025 Bowl Projection Tracker

If that is still on the ESPN website - I'd say "Bonagura - stop mailing it in - KSU has already said it will not play any bowl game!"

Hanson, Swenson, Gilk, Crowl Receive B1G Honors

Out of curiosity (and I don't mean this to diminish anyone's season), any reason why 25 players receive First Team Big Ten honors? Seems like a lot when, counting a libero, teams typically "start" 7 players. In comparison, there are 22 starters in football (plus a handful of special teams...

Poll: What’s PJ Fleck’s 1st Stupid Decision Today in game vs Wisky.

1st timeout - during the team entrance to the stadium - wants a redo to "look better" 2nd timeout - before the coin toss, captains need to reconfirm with the sidelines as to whether they are supposed to choose "tails" - only to find out it is the visiting team's call. 3rd timeout - before the...

Where are you sitting at Wrigley?

Funny how we scrutinize to save $2-3 on a ticket, yet don't think twice about a $16 beer......

Where are you sitting at Wrigley?

The prices are coming down - saw a $25 single on a secondary market this morning (had been $50+ for most of the week). I think I'm waiting until gameday - if I do not find something at the 'Sota Social, I'll go to Stub Hub, etc.

Where are you sitting at Wrigley?

    Yes - Yak-Zies https://www.umnalumni.org/s/1867/23/1col.aspx?sid=1867&pgid=6082&gid=2&cid=19327&ecid=19327&post_id=0

Where are you sitting at Wrigley?

I tried to track down some Gophers sections at Wrigley and came up empty as well. Appears that Wrigley (not Northwestern) is handling the ticket transactions - likely leading to a broad mix of fans. Looking for a single ticket if anyone happens to have an extra

    Northwestern Start Time - 11am

As expected, the Northwestern game time on November 22 is 11a. For those of us attending Wrigley, the 'Sota Social starts at 8am at Yak-Zies, but I believe there may be other pub gatherings as well...
