Official 2021 Gophers Football Recruiting Updates Thread: Links, Tweets, Videos etc

Like others, I came across this question when the thread was bumped. I'm not a big hockey fan but here are some football/hockey Gophers I recall from long ago. Noel Jenke: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noel_Jenke Jim Carter: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Carter_(American_football)...

Fleck and Fickell go back on forth about Martin Owusu negative recruitment

Apparently the Badgers have been recruiting negatively for a long time. :)

Tubby Smith on Minnesota: "It may be the first or second toughest job in the Big Ten."

You are wrong. Here is my source. Scroll down a bit and you will find the self imposed sanctions listed as well a list of those by the NCAA. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Minnesota_basketball_scandal

Warren suggests Divisions could be gone when USC/UCLA join

Yes, 2 divisions of 8 teams, divided East & West. Did we not learn anything with the Legends & Leaders fiasco? Putting both CA teams in the West & moving Purdue to the East solves much of the balance issue and allows virtually all (if not all) long standing rivalries to play every year. It...

Gopher legend Dave Winfield met with Gopher basketball team today

I'm getting old and apparently slow on the uptake. I need the ;) when people are foolin' around.:)

Gopher legend Dave Winfield met with Gopher basketball team today

Sorry, you're way off. Thorson coached for Haskins and Winfield played for Musselman about 20 years earlier.

    Brock Annexstad in the Portal

It seems he would like to be more than just the designated "fair catcher." I'm sure he has his degree so moving down to do more shouldn't be a problem.

No Thread on the Spring Game?

The player you seem to be overlooking would be #1 in maroon, Ike "ike" White. The Gophers receiving corps has 2 Wrights and a White.

Sutherlin. . . does he have another year?

I agree. Whatever a player's eligibility status was prior to last season remained the same at the beginning of this season. Sutherlin had previously been active for 3 seasons and this season is his fourth. He will be done. All the people that played last year are being treated as if they had...

Gophers offer Vanderbilt-transfer DT Lorenza Surgers

The thread title says he is a DT but the video highlights clearly indicate he is a DE.

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT MICHIGAN IN-GAME THREAD TWAS NIGHT BEFORE XMAS THEME!!!***

Maybe he is a lot better now than he was when he was 18 y/o. A good D1 coach can probably tell if he is. In local football I recall that Adam Thielen and CJ Ham "transferred" from D2 football to the NFL.

    Fleck on dline with Grimmer

I had to laugh. It was a classic "Yogi-ism". Probably the result of a speck of dust on the human "ram". I've done it myself. :-)

Doogie: Ed Conroy would like to remain on the Gophers staff to support the new head coach

Let the new coach decide who his assistants should be. Nothing mentioned here wouldn't be recognized by the new coach. If he wants to move on with all of his own guys we will all be better off in the long run. Maybe Robbins would stay even if Conroy doesn't. Why assume not? A lot may hang...

Destiny PItts: Transfers to Texas A&M (All Things Suspension and Transfer Related)

It's interesting that in this article dated 11-10-2020 Destiny is quoted in regard to her parents, “They are just excited to see me play again, especially since this is my last year." Maybe she has professional plans in her near future.
