Who is probably the second or third best coach in the MWC, LOL. We had the other guy from the MWC, but they ran him out. Will run this guy out too I'm sure.
The players really hold the cards here, especially in the current climate.
If elite black athletes started shunning programs with white coaches there would be more black coaches. Wont happen, but it would make noise if it did. I hope the next coach is black and successful. I would of course...
About 80% of the college players are black, at least at high DI programs. You'd think that a greater percentage of coaches would also be black. The fact thats not the case raises questions.
Would be cool if the next Gopher coach is also African American, but its got to be someone with a track...
Only 3 pages on this thread tells you all you need to know about the state of MBB in MN and in general. Tubby Smith was the most successful Gophers coach in the last 25 years. And run out of town. Good luck to Coyle.
No idea if Ben will be retained or not, but his coaching staff does a pretty darn good job of working with the talent they get into the building. 7-11 is a very respectable record for this outfit. Can Ben recruit and retain quality players over multiple years? If he could, I think he's now...
Ben would consistently win at MN if he could recruit and most importantly, retain, players. He gets his guys ready to play and the X's and Os are pretty good. He has a terrible time managing players minutes and rotations, which has contributed to the exodus of talent. I dont think he's back...
Great news. If Garcia can shoot, shoot, shoot all summer and get his 3pt percentage to 38% with volume, it would make a world of difference for both him and the team next season.
The difference between the NBA and M-CBB is like the difference between a high school orchestra and the Chicago Chamber. The M-CBB product has never been worse and little point in watching unless its your team/player.
