About 80% of the college players are black, at least at high DI programs. You'd think that a greater percentage of coaches would also be black. The fact thats not the case raises questions. Would be cool if the next Gopher coach is also African American, but its got to be someone with a track...

Only 3 pages on this thread tells you all you need to know about the state of MBB in MN and in general. Tubby Smith was the most successful Gophers coach in the last 25 years. And run out of town. Good luck to Coyle.

No idea if Ben will be retained or not, but his coaching staff does a pretty darn good job of working with the talent they get into the building. 7-11 is a very respectable record for this outfit. Can Ben recruit and retain quality players over multiple years? If he could, I think he's now...

Ben would consistently win at MN if he could recruit and most importantly, retain, players. He gets his guys ready to play and the X's and Os are pretty good. He has a terrible time managing players minutes and rotations, which has contributed to the exodus of talent. I dont think he's back...

He either needs to stay in the draft or come back to MN. Transferring to a new coach/team with uncertain usage would be a very risky move for Year 2.

Let MCBB die. Then maybe it can start over.

The difference between the NBA and M-CBB is like the difference between a high school orchestra and the Chicago Chamber. The M-CBB product has never been worse and little point in watching unless its your team/player.
