Gophers wake up this morning with 7 quad 1 wins after Oregon and USC both move up in the NET. They are tied for 10th in all of the NCAA. Hilarious for a team that is close to being out of the top 100 NET. This team makes no sense.
You're one of the few giving Villanova some love. Lunardi has them in his next 4 out, but I've seen a lot of professional and amateur bracketologists not even mention them.
I fell in love with their play during the Jay Wright runs and they've become my second favorite team. Been rooting for...
From Ryan James on Twitter:
"In the 130 years of Gopher basketball there have been only a dozen teams that have won five or more league games on the road.
The 2024-25 team is one of those 12."
What the hell even is this team?
You're right they probably will have to win one more. BUT, it's entirely possible 3 of these 4 teams lose out too. Which would be an incredibly sad way to qualify, but a way nonetheless!
Iowa: @Northwestern, Michigan State, @Nebraska
Penn State: Maryland, @Wisconsin
Washington: Indiana, @USC...
I really want to see the lads pull this one out. Regardless of how you feel about the coaching/program/AD and where it's at right now, at the end of the day we're cheering for kids (minus Parker Fox who is a certified adult) to play more games than other programs. And this is a key opportunity...
At the risk of jinxing this into oblivion, the Gophers have a realistic shot to get all the way up to 8th place by the end of Tuesday:
Gophers win Saturday and Tuesday (8-9)
Oregon loses Saturday @ Wisconsin (8-9)
Nebraska loses Monday vs Michigan (7-10)
Ohio State loses Sunday @ UCLA (7-10)
The Gophers resume continues to confound.
Take a look at the NET rankings. Gophers are down at 91, surrounded by teams with zero to 2 Q1 wins. You have to scroll all the way up to 52 to Nebraska to find a team with at least 5 Q1 wins.
They must be close to breaking a record for most Q1 wins...
