Gophers Open -2.5 vs Cal Bears

tell us about it :( had realignment happened 20 years ago (when we were really good) or 10 years ago (when stanford was), we almost would have certainly made it, and likely would have been ahead of the Oregon/UW combo. we picked a really bad time to be mediocre. but, at least so far, I've...

Gophers Open -2.5 vs Cal Bears

He's a great guy, and Cal isn't the easiest job. Positives: 1 - he immediately fixed a defense that under Dykes was historically bad. As in, giving up over 10 yards/play bad. 2 - he beat USC a couple times, which for a team that hadn't beaten them in 14 years actually brought tears to my eyes...

    Berkeley or Bust: who’s going?

Washington is definitely worth a trip. Great views of the water from the stadium (even if i, apparently in the minority, find the stadium itself pretty ugly). Their campus is a lot like Cal's, just... greener, as you'd expect in the PNW

    Berkeley or Bust: who’s going?

is the residence inn on shattuck? I think Jupiters still around and it was always a decent place... i wouldn't call it a "sports bar" but they have TVs and you should be able to catch a game. before the game you can stop by Henrys on the way to the stadium. Get a Golden Bear. They're yummy.

Cal doing a GOLD OUT against Minnesota.

fan engagement seems to be on the up, largely on account of gameday last year and the calgorithm. who knows, perhaps we'll pull it off. just don't expect a scene like what you see at penn state. or auburn, where all the ladies had matching white dresses when i went to that game last year...

Gophers Open -2.5 vs Cal Bears

Completely agree! While I (like most Cal fans) hope we eventually end up in the B1G for stability, the ACC has been awesome because its a bunch of teams we have no history with. No one hates us and there isn't a USC or Oregon in the mix (yet, Miami and FSU probably do a decent stand-in for...

Gophers Open -2.5 vs Cal Bears

we haven't missed a FG yet - knock on wood. as i think someone mentioned earlier, missed FGs cost us dearly last year, directly leading to ~4 losses (the whole 4 game losing streak where the total margin of defeat was 9 points involved at least 6 or 7 missed field goals... one in every game...

Cal doing a GOLD OUT against Minnesota.

yeah we'll see. as a cal fan, we're not good at following directions for stuff like this. i've always loved the idea of a gold out (and also love doing it when gold is one of the visitor colors), but unless cal gives out 30k shirts/ponchos, i think its pretty unlikely to really work. i'd love...

PJ Fleck Press Conference ahead of Cal.

i remember that catch, pretty insane. i do recall thinking it was clean, but that was a slightly different era of football lol

    Berkeley or Bust: who’s going?

It can sell out or close for really big games (when we hosted Auburn 2 years ago, last year Miami and Stanford), but i'd imagine there will at least 5-10k empty this weekend. You should have no issues moving around to find your group if you're seated in different areas... Cal isn't particularly...

Gophers Open -2.5 vs Cal Bears

Cal fan here... Really looking forward to the game. As far as what we think of our team.. on the positive side: 1) We're very excited about our freshman QB, though he was a bit inconsistent in week 2.. took him a while to get going. 2) Our defense seems pretty strong. Wilcox's usually are...
