Wow. This is the worst Gopher football team I've seen in my 50 + years of watching the Gophers. And there's some pretty stiff competition for that honor. Talent level aside- is this really better coaching?
 

This is such a garbage offense. I was hoping that they would play action and go deep after that run but you can't play action when NO ONE is in the backfield. A motion TE doesn't count. The drop doesn't help but a little deception would be nice, it was obvious that they were going to run it with 3 WRs out there.
 





Gray is a running back, not a QB. You can't win in the Big Ten without a passing game and Gray can't pass. Play both QBs in the same backfield - come up with something!
 

At what point do we say these mistakes are coaching-related? If Kill is all about discipline, half the starters should be sitting down right now. Give the walk-ons a chance to show they have some pride.
 

I'm willing to give the coaching staff time. I'm not willing to call out individual players. But we are terrible. Bad play, bad breaks, bad luck and most games bad calls, but mostly bad play.

Just because you are able to predict that you will be horrible does not give you an unlimited get-of-jail-free card. You gotta show something. He's had these guys for months. He needs to demonstrate that we've improved in some metric.
 



It's tough to beat anyone when you play without a quarterback. MG has had more than the opportunity to show what he can do and it is obvious that he is a terrible passer and has some of the worst field presence I have seen. He throws when he should run, runs when he should throw, and he is so uncomfortable in the pocket it is a joke. Just once I'd like to see him stay in the pocket and deliver a pass and take a hit. He appears so afraid of taking a hit when passing, he bails on the pocket early and usually ends up sacked. Please start playing a Qb!
 


You know... up by 27 less than a minute to half, just kick the field goal and have some class Nebraska.
 

Unfortunately Nebraska has the rest of the season to get ready for. I Don't blame them for going for it, I blame us for not stopping it. This season can't end quickly enough.
 

Also, once again, I stand by the students on their attendance % compared to regular season ticket holders. The bottom half is completely full with half of 2 sections of upper deck in gold. Obviously they did not SELL 10,000 seats, but the ones who bought showed up. I see easily 33% red if not more in the rest of the stadium, which means a LOT of season ticket holders have some explaining to do...

And without wide receivers and an offensive line and a defensive line and cornerbacks and on and on and on. Putting in Shortell wouldn't make a bit of a difference. Except that the next quarterback in line would be the new best player on the team.

Explaining to who exactly? The ticket police?
I know several season ticket holders who paid for almost their entire season ticket cost by selling this one game to Husker fans. I can't say I blame them. Sell one game - see the rest for free.

Kill is building the program w/ concrete? he needs to add some rebar. He has done nothing but tear down the talent and the heart of his players since day 1. His coaching looks terrible to me. Defensive ends who don't stay home. Stupid penalties and mistakes. Run off tackle every play. Move Gray to wr. He cannot play qb. We never run scvreens, reverses, the offense is NO fun. Where are the fake punts? Trick plays. At least have some fun. This off tackle crap where it doesn't work is no good. Also, why are we playing these seniors on offensive line when they can't block????

The team, the university, the state, I dunno I could go on. Why buy the tickets if you a) can't afford them, b) can't go to the games, or c) will purposely sell them just to pay for the rest of the games at the expense of making our stadium look like a Nebraska home game.
