Saw this mock draft drop today in The Athletic, so draftniks, people smarter than me (pretty much everyone)have at it -

28. Minnesota Timberwolves (via DET)

Sergio De Larrea | 6-5 wing | 20 years old | Valencia

The Timberwolves are thought to be exploring potential point guard options in the late first round, and De Larrea is an interesting one after having played a solid role for Euroleague team Valencia this season. He averages nine points and nearly four assists per game in the Spanish ACB league and is a legitimate 40 percent 3-point shooter over the last two seasons.

59. Minnesota Timberwolves (via SAS): Dillon Mitchell | 6-7 wing | 22 years old | St. John’s

Hate to be negative Nelly but finch ain't playing anyone drafted at 28 or 59

Our pick at 28 probably has more value being used in a trade compared to the players available at that point, especially since Finch apparently has no interest in younger player development as Jimmy pointed out.

I'd go with:

28. CG Meleek Thomas (Arkansas)
58. PG Tamin Lipsey (Iowa St)

I'd do that trade in two seconds.

Shannon jr is a dime a dozen

Naz can't rebound or defend........ 25 million for that

Jaden and Naz are invisible against the big boys

It's basically Jaden for Giannis in my book......... and I do that all day and all night.

Roll the dice. We aren't even close to the spurs or okc.

Absolutely!! Go Big or Go Home!

We need two Top Ten players to be able to come out of the west.

It may not work, but it’ll put butts in the seats and the buzz will be electric and it’ll be amazing TV.

The deal I saw on The Athletic included Myles Turner.

This team is already lacking depth and now they want to trade three of their top seven players? Wtf would they do with Myles Turner if they still have Rudy and Randle. I'm not opposed to going for it but you can't gut the only depth we have regardless of their warts

Youd have to have trades lined up for randle and gobert.

But I think this rumor is to drive value up. Wolves out is my guess

I'll be surprised if a deal for Giannis happens. I would expect MIL will want to do a full rebuild if they trade him and we simply don't have the young talent and draft picks that other teams can offer.

I wouldn't mind getting our hands on Ryan Rollins as our PG if the Bucks get trade drunk and I've always been a big fan of Bobby Portis as a C/PF off the bench.

naz, Shannon, and Jaden are young.

Naz (26), Jaden (25) and TSJ (25) aren't considered "young" in NBA terms. I'm referring to guys that are 19-22 years old and still on their Rookie deals that are easy to include in salary aggregated deals.

I think it's a moot point anyways because I expect us to target a PG like Kyrie, Garland, Murray or Jrue instead.

Lol yeah lets roll Ant out with Giannis, Randle, and Gobert and zero bench next season. What a disaster that would be.

You should also recheck Naz's numbers against the Spurs.

We aren't close to the Spurs or OKC is also a laughably bad take.

You seriously think we are keeping Gobert and randle if we get Giannis.

And you are right, let's just roll with Naz and Jaden next to Ant. We can do it. I just know we can. LOL

Remember when you talked about we couldn't defensively have a prayer against the Spurs. That is correct!

Well, Naz says, "hold my beer!"

Yup

Be fun to see him and Tatum team up together and Jaylen Brown is realistically the best player I’ve seen mentioned in any trade rumors. I also think he may have worn out his welcome in Boston. Whether Giannis would be into it 🤷‍♂️

And you think we're going to get a significant return from them on their own and not lumping them into a trade for someone like Giannis?

So you want Ant and Giannis and have no idea who else we can realistically get? Sounds like a much worse team to me. Actually it sounds a lot like this.

That was far from a Naz Reid only problem. No one was playing D.

That was the theme for the entire season. The Wolves were a top defensive team the last two seasons. This year they were an average defensive team with nearly the same personnel. That's more of a Finch problem to me.

Neither did Randle.......we got zero defense from the forward spot......NOTHING

Giannis changes that spot significantly for defense.

Who were the problem people defensively against the spurs?

I'm assuming they resign Ayo, correct?

We didn't get any from the guards either. No DD, Ant at about 60%, and a hobbled Ayo were a big problem. TSJ gets lost on D too.

I'll be surprised if they don't re-sign Ayo.

So you think naz and Jaden can be a part of slowing down the Spurs or OKC

I say not in a million years.

Remember, Ant had no real interest in defense this year, healthy or not.

Yes. Naz is such a better fit offensively than Randle.

Agree on Ant and others not playing D. That’s why I keep saying Finch is a problem.

Finch is the problem if Ant isn't playing "D"?
Managers in every industry that are given great responsibilities, but paid handsomely for it, accept their personal accountability when subordinates underperform under their watch. They can get relieved of those responsibilities, too.

If a coach has to tell Ant to play defense......then trade him tomorrow
