All Things 2026 Minnesota Twins In-Season Thread

It is nice to see the MLB allowing the label College World Series. Can you imagine if college football even hinted at college Super Bowl?

The NFL now has partial ownership of the network that broadcasts the CFP Championship, so it's not completely unthinkable that they would try to monetize it in some fashion.

Even though the Twins were routed by the Bucs yesterday, Brooks Lee's 2 HR lifted the Career WAR up to -0.3.

Brooks Lee Career WAR: -0.6

If we're going to be bad, at least play the young guys. Enough watching old bad players. Call up Culpepper, Mendez and Funderburk immediately and get rid of Gray, Kreidler and one of the pathetic duo of Adams or Lawrence from the bullpen

Dog days.

I am puzzled as to what Funderburk did to deserve a demotion to begin with.

I am sure that is the justification.

I am skeptical that anyone they saved from being DFAd was worth it though.

F No

Parades has shown some ability, ride with him.
A parade for Paredes.

Fun facts from looking at his history -

He was amazing for Wichita last year as he was 11-0 with this line for his season totals there (.207 was opponents BA and 1.03 was WhIP

Never listed amongst Twins Top 30 Prospects by my knowledge, despite his epic 2035 season,

18th round pick from San Diego State.

Update on some wounded pitchers

Rojas, Abel to throw Wednesday

Mick Abel (right elbow inflammation) is scheduled to throw 50 pitches over three innings in a rehab start for Triple-A St. Paul at Toledo on Wednesday night, the Twins said. The team also said that Rojas (left elbow inflammation) would participate in a 25-pitch bullpen session in Minneapolis on Wednesday. … After making one appearance for St. Paul, the Twins are pausing the rehab program for Cole Sands (right forearm strain) because he’s struggling to recover in between outings.

Isn't there still room for a Starting Pitcher?
There is but I’m rapidly approaching the point where us rather piggyback Paredes and Rojas at than continue to run out the 🦓 again.

His first three starts were all QS; he’s had one out of his last 3. 14 ER in 10.1 innings in the other two.

No amount of $2 beers can disguise how dreadful this team is. Hard to identify who besides Ryan will be in demand at the trade deadline.
Just 4 games out of the Wild Card! 😆

What sucks is that I could easily see as few as 83 or 84 wins being enough to get a Post-Season berth.
