Per CBS:

Minnesota: Gophers pull off a big upset

I suspect Minnesota's final record will look like a typical Minnesota record, but how they get there will be more interesting. The Gophers have road games at Washington, Indiana and Penn State. They also welcome Michigan to Minneapolis. They will be underdogs in all four games, but they'll win at least one of them.

Go Gophers!!

I don't see a loss on that portion of the schedule

Not sure this is a bold prediction - isn't this commonplace for Nebraska?

Nebraska: Cornhuskers miss out on a bowl game

This prediction is not based on Dylan Raiola leaving. I'm of the opinion that Anthony Colandrea might not be the NFL prospect Raiola is, but he's a better fit for what Dana Holgorsen likes to do. No, this prediction is based on the fact that just because he's a fit doesn't mean Colandrea is a star, and Nebraska's schedule is not easy. The Huskers will be on the road for Michigan State, Oregon, Illinois and Iowa. They could also be underdogs at home to Indiana and Ohio State, and maybe even Washington, too. If this bold prediction comes true, odds are there will be a coaching search in Lincoln this winter.

I feel like if we won at Washington or Penn St (Especially Penn St this year) it really wouldn't even be that big of an upset. Even Michigan at home doesn't seem like a big one either, but maybe that is me overrating us as a program.

Here is an example about how lazy this is:

Indiana Hoosiers lose three times, miss CFP

...and tough road trips to Nebraska...

Nebraska: Cornhuskers miss out on a bowl game

They could also be underdogs at home to Indiana...

I personally think Washington is pretty overrated and is a pick em game.

I know they went to a national title game a couple of years ago with a different coach and quarterback but….

Or the market overrating some 7-8 win teams and pretending they’re perennial 10 win teams.

Seriously? Let’s bet that. I’ll take Washington. We can play for a gopher t-shirt or something?

Bet what?
I’ve got under Washington 8.5 regular season you have over?

Why would I give you Washington and me take Minnesota in a game that I said was 50-50?
I think they’re both 6-8 win teams

You said it was a even game in your previous post correct?

I don’t think Washington and Minnesota is a pick em game so of course I would bet on Washington

Exciting schedule for 2026. Playing for 4 out of the 5 trophy games. First time playing Washington since joining the B1G. Playing a SEC game at home. Playing @ previous years National Champions Indiana.

Will be a fun year no matter how it turns out.

Totally agree. Love having Michigan here and looking forward to playing Washington

Since every season now could be Captain Kirk's last, would be great to keep Floyd in the Trophy Case this year maybe prodding Ferentz to become the legend that he has actually earned.

Yes I get that. But why would I take Minnesota with a straight up bet when I never said I thought Minnesota would win the game?
I think it’s equally likely Washington does
You realize me saying it’s a pick em is not the same thing as saying Minnesota will win?

So you think X is the outcome.
I think Y or X is the outcome.
Why would I make a bet where you are getting 100% of what you think is happening but I only get 50% of what I think might happen

An over under bet would be more fair based on my comments. I have Washington under 8.5 you have them over (since you were offended my comments I assume you think they’re over)

I don’t think the gophers beating 8-4, 7-5, or 6-6 Washington would be a very big upset because I think the gophers also win 6, 7, or 8 games

OK, no problem. Forget I asked. Just trying to have a little fun on gopherhole, that’s all

All this over a potential bet for a T-shirt...

No bet. I don’t know who’s going to win the game!

I would do a Washington under 8.5 bet if anyone wants to take the over. But I think you can get a 7.5 from an actual bookmaker

Interesting conversation for me because for a while I’ve had the Huskies winning 8 or 9 games this year. So I’d bet the over at 7.5 and the under at 9.5, but at 8.5 it’s a no bet for me.

It would be if it was at TCF. Husky stadium is crazy and very very loud! We re probably 7 pt dogs for that game even if we are even up team wise.

We still could win it. We have so many unknowns right now. Arguing whos going to win what game in April esp w our team is illogical

Yes. Which is why I think if Mn is a 6-8 win team it’s essentially a pick em, to me

I’m not arguing at all.
