All Things 2026 Transfer Portal Thread

If Vaihola happens to leave id like to get a real defensive post presence. Grove is a solid role player and Mpoyi looks like a big body, would be nice to have a massive shot blocker and rim runner
Well we would only be his 4th school...god its crazy out there now.

I’m not qualified to evaluate how talent/skillset will translate from a low-major to high-major program, but I’ll say this after seeing Uelmen play in person several times this season. … he’s fearless and competes his butt off. Tough kid, despite his physical appearance (kinda’ skinny).

Yep.. some players have a knack for putting the ball in the basket and doing it efficiently.. he is quicker than you think.. and very good at getting into space to get his shot off.. that is an art form.. I am not saying he is Curtis Jones from Iowa St but his ability get to a spot where he knows he can get his shot off while driving to the hoop is very good and efficient…

He's certainly an intriguing prospect. I saw him only once in one of UND's conference tournament games. I noticed that he attacked the basket with considerable speed frequently. I wondered if he would be able to do that as often in the Big Ten but we did see numerous conference defenders this season having difficulty keeping Reynolds away from the basket.

The other ND school has two interesting big men entering the portal: Noah Feddersen and Treyson Anderson. They both averaged similar minutes. Feddersen started at the beginning of the season and Anderson at the end of the season. Anderson's stats were a bit better but Feddersen was a better free throw shooter. It would be nice to have at least one more big man who you could send to the line with some confidence.

Agree. Saw him play in the conference tournament and he was a totally unstoppable warrior. I remember thinking, "who is this guy?!"

Given a choice between Anderson and Feddersen, I'd take Feddersen. Just one man's preference/opinion.

Maybe Anderson ends up at Nebraska, as he's a Lincoln native.

Just think what Sid could have done with those names.

New ideal lineup:

Greyson Uelmen
Grayson Grove
Nolan Groves
Nolan Anderson
I saw this bit on Shoresy. 2 French-Canadian announcers practicing the possible play-by-play combinations of the vast number of opposing players from the other team with very similar first and last names. It was hilarious!

I think I would prefer Feddersen too if for no other reason than the free throw shooting. While I thought Grove was a pleasant surprise this season he had 36 free throw attempts and left 27 of them on the table. And Vaihola is only a 57% career free throw shooter.

I'd prefer Anderson to complete the full lineup of:

Greyson Uelmen
Grayson Grove
Nolan Groves
Nolan Anderson
Treyson Anderson

100%. I’ve been adamant we owe the injured guys nothing. They made a lot of money, and didn’t pan out. Unless they’re willing to take a pay cut to get another impact player or two, cut them lose, and go get guys that are certified difference makers.

The whole “Omot could be an ‘x’ factor” ship has sailed.
Why anyone would be remotely interested in someone whose has played FOUR games in two years is beyond me🤦‍♂️

Although it is certainly interesting to hypothesize potential portal transfers, I have no idea what the "MN War Room" has on the board as targeted players. The last couple years I went waaay down the rabbit hole On3/IG posts/X and there is just no way for an outsider to strategize who may or may not be transferring in or out. Checking who is available is fun, but I am not going through pinning hopes on any player(s) portaling in this year. In Niko I trust.

Visits by players are useful when they are posted. Usually players commit within a week of an on-site visit.
