Raboin is our next coach. He is currently coaching a team whose season is still going. If you think he has worked in coaching the last 15 years to finally be offered his dream job and he turned it down then you’re delusional. He has to say the right things right now as coach of Augustana.

You just spun him turning it down, and now you're saying he didn't turn it down. So whichever coach we get, you say "Well we're better off and or they weren't offered" for not getting a better one?

Do you think Raboin is or will be offered the job?

If yes, we wait and see if he's the coach. If he's not, it'll mean he turned it down.

I personally believe that yes, an offer has or will be made.

I also believe that at least Ben Barr will have been contacted. And that he likely said no.
 

In what world would Raboin turn down this job to stay at Augustana? I truly believe a deal was pretty much done maybe even before the announcement of Motzko leaving.

Why would Barr possibly say no? Do you even understand our place in the college hockey universe? We are Alabama in football, Duke in basketball. You need to take a breath. When was the last time someone turned down the Gopher hockey job? It hasn’t happened in my lifetime. Raboin is our next coach.

Augustana is private, so like Denver, we don't know what they are paying coaches and players. Are they getting Sanford money, some other funding? If it's about money, it's entirely possible Raboin thinks or knows he's getting a better deal there, or at least the difference isn't enough to leave.

Haha I don’t live there just went to school there, don’t disagree it ain’t great but the athletic department knows what they’re doing, does Minnesota’s?

Also, lmao what planet do you live on? People see what’s on the news, and the news coming out of Minneapolis over the past 6 years has been horrible, might not be true but that’s what we see not living there

Which is why you need an ad who can listen and sell the vision of your top candidate on how you will support them with better resources to achieve their goals

Literally zero faith in Coyle to do that (and even more embarrassing if he’s trying to do this remotely because again this is a sport where the respect aspect still matters a hell of a lot)

The tax doesn't really matter if you're making more money. Your net income is almost always still higher even if you pay more money in taxes. This is an argument usually spouted by redneck chuds who don't understand economics and taxation.

Now the question is, is it worth it to Raboin to uproot and move here? Do we know for sure the U can pay more? Does he prefer the smaller city life in Sioux Falls (I wouldn't live there)? We don't know what drives people.

Our ad and the 2 choices would come down to rabs vs potulny. Now adding Larson with literally zero mention of anyone else shows that people were pretty spot on he doesn’t really know how to find a hockey coach unless it’s dumped in his lap

Your take is reasonable, rationale and almost certainly the outcome of this coaching search.

With that said, this is the U we're talking about so we all pace around worried and wondering if we should put on a pair of Depends.

Raboin gets done and I hope we at least reached out to Carle and Ferschweiler.

I can’t think of a single booster I’ve heard mention Larson.

I’ve heard some old heads mention potulny who completely haven’t followed anything since he left here but think 02-03 will be right back if he steps in

Agreed. Why would a booster push for a former Bulldog and current head coach of SCSU with an average track record to be our head coach. That’s a booster we don’t need.

They had zero interaction. Why would him pushing a guy who coaches at SCSU make any sense lol

The only person I can realistically see who may have said Larson is Bob and I guess in theory some players who may have liked him from WJC
