Official 2026 Roster Movement Thread - Who's In and Who's Out?

Some of those guys leaving in the Spring will be among these current transfers. Happens every year lately. Commit-stay through spring game- decommit. We picked up something like 7 transfers last spring including Weston and Nestor.

There was a second transfer window last year after spring ball. That window no longer exists.

Yeah, I didn't include Cardenas because he wasn't on the roster when the season started. Don't really see him as part of this current transfer group.

I think it’s around 7 give or take a couple.

That's about what Deion did at Colorado several years ago, in his initial season. Now it's becoming the norm ... for teams that want to speed up the identity change.

First real disappointment (for me) of this portal season: UMD TE and Gopher legacy Luke Dehnicke has committed to Northwestern. Drat. He would have looked good in Maroon and Gold. I would have been disappointed about Koi, but I kind of expected him to move on to greener pasture$ for what could be his final college year.

Yeah, it could certainly be a competition thing for these spots too. It's not uncommon for us to have 3-5 transfer out after spring.

Gopher Grandpa has a thread where he is updating roster numbers as best he can. We are definitely over right now. My assumption is that you can probably be over through spring and summer and into fall camp. Assume there is a date of some kind prior to the start of the season when you have to be at the roster limit.

X-Factor is that there are guys that don't count against the 105 but no clue how many of those we have.

My assumption, the incoming freshman won't count yet if they don't early enroll. I'm guessing a few guys know they won't have a scholarship next fall but they are being allowed to keep it for the spring.

No Spring portal though, so they can't transfer, they'd just be done.
